Well tomorrow is the big day! My surgery is scheduled at 2pm - I have to be there at noon - I was hoping for an earlier surgery time so I didn't have to deal with NOTHING to drink all morning long! Today has been full of nerves and a little frustration due to not being able to eat anything - liquids only!

I know this is the best decision I'll make - but that doesn't help my mind freak out - I'm kinda expecting the worse and hoping for the best!!

Best of luck to you and a speedy recovery! I was a nervous wreck before mine, didn't help that I was in a foreign country either. It will be over before you know it and you will be on the road to losing!

Yea!!!! Me too! I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am...surgery at 7...said I was first patient. My nerves are shot and I'm scared but overall I'm excited!!???? had to do only 1 week liquids...I'm over it...just sat here while my family had pizza!! Needless to say, I have support to some degree, but I had to move back home for personal reasons. I guess no matter how old you are, your parents will always be your parents and their house, their rules!! Good luck, it's going to be fine!! Prayers for a speedy recovery, Dee

GOOD LUCK!!!! We will all be thinking of you. Our group of September sleevers!

I am one week away, well and 1 day.

September 9th.

I was just thinking about the day of surgery. How will I feel? Will I be first? Will I cry? I am so anxious.

Please, please keep us posted. Prayers with you!

Surgery went well! Only had to stay over 1 night, had a great experience overall. I'm a little sore but not as sore as I was with the sleeve. How is everything going?

My surgery went great! I stayed 1 night in the hospital and was in no pain! I had no nausea/pain - my surgery was at 2:30 - I was in my room by 4:30 and up walking by 7pm - I was honestly surprised! I had no issues - so far so good!! I'm home now on a clear liquid diet until Wednesday - then I go on full liquids which I'm super excited about it! The only thing I have noticed is I get tired easily - but I sip, walk, rest, and repeat! It's helped to have my husband home with me this week as well - My kiddos have also made sure I had everything I need!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
