5 week post op & on a 2 week STALL! GOING CRAZY!

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved July 21, lost 30 lbs so far ...... However I just got off a 4 week stall ... Yes 4 week!!! I was going NUTS!! I finally broke the stall & lost 4 lbs over a few days. Now I am holding at the new lower weight for the past 2 days. Uuuggghhhh .... Have not & will not cheat, Protein is at 70-80 g a day per NUT. . Water is good. Just so so frustrating.

Stalls are a normal part of the process. Rather than focus on the numbers on the scale, focus on doing your best to get in all your Protein and Water. Both are critical for both healing and weight loss.

I'm still stalled, I am exactly 6 weeks post op. I have lost a total of 16 pounds to date. 13 pounds was 2 days after I came home from surgery. I feel so defeated and really don't know what to do. I have been eating the exact foods and amounts, I eat about 800 calories a day and eat 70 grams of Protein a day. I excercise at least 60 minutes a day 6 days a week. I'm doing everything according to the rules. I will be honest and say I have tried eating things I shouldn't because I feel like my RNY is "broken". Not only am I stalled but I have had sugar(candy), I know it's not ok but I did it. I have not got sick, dumped or anything. My dr. Has no explanation and has told me just to keep at it. It's so hard though. I have no one to really talk to about this. So I could use the support from others here. So I can keep at it????

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
