Hi Jen. October will whizz up fast. Enjoy your last big meals but don't totally overdo it like I did - had an extra 4 kilos on between booking in and starting pre op diet. Anyway. Don't let the doubts win. The surgery is ok and it's wonderful not to feel hungry!

Welcome Lozz! Would love to hear your journey! May? How many kilos/sizes are you down? Have you got more energy? What food is working well and what do you avoid?

Btw, thanks for the encouragement Naomi

Sorry I have been quiet - went up Norf to Liverpool for the weekend. I can finally understand the bloody accent up there!

Glad everything is going well - I start my pre-op diet on Friday. Are you on Clear liquids still?

Hi Shotochick, glad you had a good time away. I'm 4 days post op and had some porridge today! Tasted good and went down well. Really have to master taking tablets separately from Breakfast as I went on to take tablets after porridge and felt more full than I have ever done yet! Still a bit wiped from an anaesthetic so resting a lot but hardly any pain now. Good luck with the pre op diet! Eyes on the prize. I am 5 kilos down!

6 days on -eating about 10 teaspoons of puree twice a day plus porridge for breakfast and yogurts for Snacks - as well as 1.5L Water - mainly with a bit of cordial. All going well. Minimal pain. Plenty of energy.

Hi @@smileygal

I am from Sydney too! I am scheduled for the 29th of September.

I am like you and haven't told anyone. Only my husband. I have 3 young kids and have made up a random excuse to my mum as she will have to watch them. :-(

How have you been feeling?

As a curisosity for the Sydney peeps - where you from? I grew up in Wentworthville, went to school in Parramatta, then spent 20 years around Chatswood (then moved to London).

Hi all again. I'm from south Sydney - near Hurstville. Day 12 post op today and I had the thought I'm nearly ready for work - going back on In 2 more days. Mind you, yesterday I was out and about all day and came home for a nap. 7.5kg down, managing puréed food pretty well and easily getting in 1.5 L Fluid. Love being able to manage most of a cup of tea!!

But the best news of all is that my Dr stopped my blood pressure tablets yesterday!! Yay!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
