Does anyone know what this pain could be?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm 3 weeks post op and doing great, ate to much egg the other day and felt like a I had a stitch :guess (like, you get from to much exercise) in my tummy area for while but later on felt great. 2 days later went to bed and when I got up i felt like I had a stitch sentation near my tummy button area left hand side near one of my incision sites. It's not very painful but I can most certianly feel it, not so much when I'm still just when I move. I'm visiting relatives in the UK and now I'm terrified I've slipped, pulled or broken the whole dam thing :whoo:. Has anyone else experience this sensation? If so what was it? did it go away? HELP!!!!:help:

I recall feeling little sharp stabbing pains every once in a while up until 4 wks post op. It's probably nothing, but just remember not to do anything strenuous (like lifting or exercising) until your doc gives you the go ahead.

Port may be blocked or baqnd slipped. I couldnt eat eggs at all. No matter how much I chewed or small amount eaten when I swallowed them got pain in the chest or side. Stop the eggs and see if it improves

The pain lasted for 3 days then I went to bed one day and the next day it was gone. Feel great now. I didn't call my doctor as I was away, but I will mention it to him on my follow up visit.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
