Clearances officially done.

Recommended Posts

As of today I have completed and received clearance from the psychologist (yeserday), nutritionist (today), and I official reached the pre-op weight loss goal my surgeon set for me (today). Tomorrow the scheduler should call me to schedule my rny.

I started the process on July 17 and hoping for an early Sept. Surgery. Even the nurse stated that I completed my requirements quickly.

I am excited, and nervous. I think I will be starting my pre-op diet in 1 week.

WOW what a month this has been. I am kind of afraid to undo what I have done these last few weeks.

what exactly were your prerequisites? I had my first appointment yesterday which was a nutrition and basic information class. I go back for my 2nd class the 31st and i see the PA on september 1st for my exam etc. My psych evaluation is scheduled for august 20th. the packet they gave everyone says we have to have an upper endoscopy, a sleep study, an ultrasound of the gall bladder blood work yada yada. I know my insurance covers the surgery but each case is different. I dont have any documented weight loss attempts besides a few months on phentermine. I have BCBSNC Im afraid i am going to spend all this money for all these appointments and then be denied by my health insurance. How long did it take you from your first appointment to get a surgery date and be approved? did you have to jump threw the same hoops?

I have Northern California Kaiser. I had to have clearance from the psychologist, and nutritionist, and the surgeon gave me a weight loss goal I had to meet before surgery would even be scheduled. I met all yeserday so the scheduler should call today.

I didn't have documented sleep apnea so I didn't have to do a sleep study. And all of my general health, and women's health issues were already dealt with.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
