My body is going crazy

Recommended Posts

So my surgery date was may 26 and I haven't had many issues besides gas once I was cleared to eat normal food again until the last 3 weeks every time I'm hungry I get nauseas it's so odd that everyday at least twice a day I vomit just because I'm hungry and it's causing me to graze which I hate but I can't get hungry when I'm busy at work since I can't stop and vomit every 3 hrs ugh anybody else have this issue

Hey bb3586, I'm so glad you posted this! I felt exactly like that for the longest time. My surgery was in March and it wasn't until June that the nausea went away entirely. Although unpleasant, I think what you're going through is pretty normal. Give it some more time. Don't forget your body is still recovering from a major alteration. Hang in there!!

I watched a doctor's u tube video and he said gurgling can be helped by Water, one person also stated some anti diarrhea liquid helped her stomach to settle down, I have not even had mine yet but both of these are quite minor if you want to try. Just trying to help - checkout dr u tube videos. Good luck!

Also, one thing that helped when I was at work was having Snacks that were ok to munch on through out the day. I kept things like yogurt, string cheese and hard boiled eggs close by.

Just don't get too busy at work and forget to eat. That's when you'll run into trouble!

I think this could be related to your stomach acid!
A lot of surgeons say that even though you have a small stomach your body takes time to adjust- so for a while your stomach is producing just as much acid as if you had your old, large stomach!
This could cause you to feel very nauseous/uncomfortable and even make you vomit.

I was prescribed Omeprazole (Prilosec) 40mg daily for the first 3 months to help with this problem.

On the days I don't take it I feel very nauseous and could definitely throw up but I try and hold it back.

You could check with your doctor and get over the counter prilosec if you aren't prescribed/taking it already.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
