Food questions

Hi. I will begin my soft phase today. Let me first say that I focus on protein first and foremost. I was wondering if anyone can please tell me what carbs are allowed at this phase. Are you ever allowed soft tortillas for example? Also, I was wondering about meatloaf, since it is made with bread in it can't you eat it, or is there an alternative way to make it? And can you eat baked potatoes?

Soft phase is about texture. I had meatloaf and baked potato (just the soft inside, not the skin) when I was on soft foods. I wouldn't think a tortilla would have worked for me so that is not something I even considered trying. To me a tortilla wouldn't add any value: flavor or nutrition-wise.

What does your program say?

I wasn't allowed any grains or starchy veggies at all for the first six months. If your program doesn't mention eating baked potatoes or tortillas, don't do it without calling them and asking for clarification/permission.

There are other ways to make meatloaf and meatballs, just google something like Paleo Meatballs or Paleo Meatloaf.
