@@BestDayEver I just don't understand how something like that can happen? Jealousy ? How can a FRIEND be that jealous to ruin a friendship.

I'm sure I will think of others as I continue my journey, but what has always bugged me is that throughout all of my weight loss attempts over the years, the well-meaning people that I love the most in this world have always wanted to feed me, "You're doing so good on your diet, let's go to Olive Garden. One decent meal won't hurt you" blah blah blah. Now my well-intentioned loved ones want to take me out on a tour of all of my favorite places to eat, which they all are my favorite, for my last meals :/ I have no desire to go and they just don't get it. They think I'm being ungrateful in not accepting their invites to eat. Yes, they are all within their normal weight ranges and have never struggled with obesity or food issues.

I'm too green to have pet peeves but, I see I have a lot to look forward to.

One of my close friends was banded and few years back and I have heard some stories from her. Constantly asking how much more weight was she going to lose? Her co-workers would buy an extra biscuit for Breakfast and offer it to her.

Some people are cruel and obviously unhappy in their own lives. Goes to show that misery LOVES company. Kind of sad if you think about it.

My best friend not being able to handle my losing weight and distancing herself. I don't think the friendship will survive it and I realize I am okay with that????. I choose to get healthy and have no regrets.

I'm sorry to hear about that. But I really know that feeling too. My best friend was super supportive when I was talking about it and super supportive asking how my appointments are going. Once I was home she came to visit and called me every day was great. And now I feel like she's distance herself from me. Is it because I don't want to go out to eat all the time? Is it because I want to do active things instead of just sit around? I unfortunately think jealousy is a big part of why we lose friendships. I definitely think my friend is someone who wishes she could lose weight, but wouldn't dream of getting surgery herself. Hang in there, I think this is a journey we are we really find who our friends are.

@@LAG4ahealthierme That stinks. My mom and I rarely see each other because every time we would see each other it was to met at a restaurant and eat. She doesn't even ask me anymore. She will still offer me junk food when I do visit and say "oh one bite won't hurt you" sure, you said that 34 years....sorry, but your dead wrong.

biggrin.gif My name is Martha, I am 31 yrs. old I have always battled with my weight. I was willing to do anything even the other types of surgeries, luckly my husband heard of the band and gave me tons of info on it, so I began looking up info talking to my doctor about and decided to go for it. I am scheduled for my ban september 22 in Monterry Mex. with Dr. Rumbout. I am a little nervous, (will it work for me, will it hurt, can I keep it up) but I am optimistic, it has worked for many the way I see it has to work for me. Wish me luck. Martha

my grandma does that. I eat at specific times of the day, and then she'd tell me to eat something an hour later. And even if I said I was fine and explained everything, she wouldn't stop. It was so frustrating. Sometimes I don't know if they do it to be cruel, or mean well and are uneducated on the surgery

Yeah it finally happened at the end of last week, I went back to work last Tuesday and had lots of hugs and positive feedback, but on Friday and yesterday I got the "dude are you sick?? Cancer???" But the one that made my nurse intervene by placing her hand over my mouth and shoving me away so I would keep my job was

"Oh my god your getting too skinny, what hell did you do, that's so weird?????" I guess my nurse loves me and didn't want me to mention the $8500 pair of boobs standing in front of me that were purchased as a gift to her husband who left her a year later anyway for a GIRL 10 years YOUNGER!!!!! Yeah at 55 years old in sure those hooters will get to heaven way ahead of her after she passes........????

@@Elode

congratulations on the newsletter.

My pet peeve is people that now want to be friends. When before weight loss they would not give me the time of day. Maybe this is my inner fat girl with a chip on my shoulder.

that has been my biggest concern. Mind you, I have awhile to go until I'm thin. But I have some coworkers that I'm afraid will start trying to be more social once I'm not overweight. :-/

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
