I take 2 bites and I have major pain in my upper chest & upper back.

I am 12 days out and lately at every single meal, I'll take 1 or 2 bites and all of a sudden I have massive sharp pains in my upper chest like under my rib cage and in my upper back. Feels like huge gas pains but then again it doesn't. I take a Prilosec and 2 Gas-X chewables a day. But not only that, after I take a bite I wicked burp. My body hurts so bad. Is it gas? Why am I burping so much immediately after I eat? Omg. How do I stop it?

I am only 5 days out and i got pains in my upper chest so bad one night I thought I was going to have to go back to the emergency room.

I find that walking ( a lot) helps....but 12 days out and it's still happening does not sound right...have you talked to your dr?

It's got to be gas/air bubble that I'm breathing in the moment I open my mouth. Lol It just started happening about 2-3 days ago. I'm not eating as much because it hurts so bad. I'm going to see him on Wednesday. I have a ton of questions. It's just so embarrassing burping after every meal. It hurts so much at times that I feel like I pulled a back muscle.

@@Mas1172 - I burp like that if I am full, usually too full.

Are you truly hungry when you eat or are you eating because you think its time to eat?

Could you be thirsty instead?

You might try smaller amounts and chew well and sit your fork down while you chew so you don't eat that 1 bite too many.

No I'm hungry. I called the Dr and they did to take smaller bites, drink really slow, don't drink anything cold because the muscles could constrict. I'm back to soups and room temp water. Yuck. Last night was bad. The chest pains were unbelievable. I woke up and took 2 Gas-X chewables. It kinda helped. I wonder if I have a gas pocket stuck behind my rib cage.

Sometimes after taking a bite I would have to get up and walk around..just like I had to walk at the hospital. Remember to take small bites, very small bites and don't use a straw. Walking will probably be your best friend!
