Are pork rinds sliders?

Recommended Posts

For me, I'd be wary of them more as a trigger food than a slider.

Sliders are things that pass right through and don't leave us satiated. The Protein in these should stay with you. I'd just start to think of them as chips...which are a trigger food for me.

Id say they almost lean towards yes in a sense. Takes awhile to get full from them and they are high in calories. Id say for a here or there snack sure but I'd measure out an amount and when you are done that's that.

So glad someone asked this! I tried one last weekend and wow was it good! BUT for me, I am concerned it could be a trigger food (if in fact I could eat more foods I wanted). I recall eating it so fast! But boy did I love having something crunchy for once! I can see how I might have them in the future but I will have to just get a couple and then get rid of the bag or something or I will be right back where I was eating an entire bag of Ruffles... (Boy do I miss Ruffles! :P )

Yeah, Pork rinds are so nutritious.

Mostly fat. The bad kind. All that sodium.

Rolling my eyes.

Sliders are anything that you can eat too much of without feeling full as you much away. For example, Wheat Thins and most types of bland crackers are sliders for me. I have not had Pork rinds since I was probably 19 or so but I feel like they might not be the most optimal choice because there is a lot of fat and sodium, despite the level of Protein. If you can pour yourself out a single serving as a treat, nothing wrong with that though! Just be able to walk away from the rest of the bag..

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
