I am a year post op and I average around 800-900 calories a day. Some days are more and some days less. I was averaging around 500 until I was around six months post op. I just focus on getting my protein and fluids in.

My biggest sources of protein are: eggs, grilled chicken, fish, shrimp, cheese, and an occasional protein shake or bar.

I think everyone varies on their calorie count. Some people can eat more and lose and or maintain and some have to eat less. If you log/track your food you might can see trends on which weeks you lose more based on your calories and intake. That has helped me.

I'm a little over 4 months and I usually get around 800-1000 per day, usually closer to 800. Avocado and some nuts help me get in some calories..

1200 seems high at this point..

I have never heard 1200 cals, I also was told 600-800. Two premier shakes and I get my min of 60 gms of Protein and 320 cals. Its fine to snack as long as its protein like I eat string cheese, laughing cow spreadable cheese on a wasa cracker and a teaspoon or so of natural Peanut Butter. ( at separate times of course) I find if I'm getting in my protein and Vitamins, food is just a bonus because I like to chew ;).
