I bought fresh bean and beef chili in the deli section of my supermarket. Added a bit of beef broth to thin it out and popped it in the blender. Sprinkled a bit of cheddar on top. It was AMAZING. I had it every day of my pureed stage.

I was sooo into Rosarita Traditional Refried Nonfat Beans with melted cheese. Actually, I still like that stuff. :)

Just don't do what I heard one nitwit did: Puree a Big Mac.

LOL!

I was on liquids and purees at the same time. I had to be able to drink Protein shake on the morning of day 3 to be able to leave the hospital. My list was Protein shakes, Greek yogurt, broth, cream Soups and a few other things I don't remember. I went to soft foods like scrambled eggs on day 8 and then on solid foods on day 10.

My surgeon's plan is solid foods between day 10 and day 14. He doesn't like for people to stay on liquids for very long - he wants us to begin to learn to eat solids and the right solids as soon as possible.

DH has been living off of blended retried Beans with Monterey Jack, purred onions, and sauce. He's also puréed chili, and made a cauliflower mash.

I was told pureed on day 3 and was glad to eat a scrambled egg with cheese. Still loving them and its been 11 weeks. I think just the option of other food is welcoming. I just wont eat anything that has no strong flavor (seasoned). If its bland - I am not wasting my "space" on it :D

It wasn't that bad, really! Head over to theworldaccordingtoeggface for ideas, but I ate a lot of whizzed bean Soups, eggs, ricotta bake (like noodleless lasagna) and a mexican pile up thing I created with a polenta crust, whizzed taco meat, cheese guac and sour cream.

But with that being said I mainly stuck with refried Beans and ricotta cheese bake. They really are good though.

Do you have an easy recipe that you could share for ricotta bake? That sounds really yummy!!!

I make the ricotta as if I was making stuff shells. Drain the ricotta, bear one while egg per container. Add my seasonings, typically garlic powder. Oregano. Salt, pepper. Pour into single serving ramekins. Topped with shredded cheese and Tomato sauce & bake at 365 until bubbly. Usually 20 - 30 minutes. I also sometime add thaw & drained frozen chopped spinach to the mix.

For the longest time it never occurred to me that people actually ate baby food. I just put everything in the nutra bullet.

oh lord help me.. lol.. I tried some puree'd egg salad I made and took one bite and knew it wasn't for me. I think it's a consistency and mental thing for me. <shiver>
I am on liquids/puree for 6 more days and am doing Protein drinks, popsicles, Soups (broth or strained cream) and did add in Greek yogurt today. Tonight I am going to try some refried Beans (I'm so excited!!!)
Then I will be so happy with soft foods next Tues!

I am day 6 post op and the pureed diet is fine. The key for me is to have adequate flavoring/seasoning in there. Still I have 3 weeks to go of this.....

I know eventually I can eat pretty much anything (in small amounts) so I am just waiting this out.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
