I'm a month out and am still cranky but not as sore. Week one was horrific 2 was such a slight bit better I couldn't tell. It gets a little better when u come off the liquid diet. I've cried almost every day since surgery. I hate to have such discouraging things to say but I'm being honest. I wish I found the honesty from others before surgery. I hope things get better for u as quick as possible.

Thank you. I'm glad I could help someone. I've been scalded on other so called support groups for being honest about my post op experiences because I say I regret doing it and would never ever recommend it to anyone. I have found more information on this app than I did during my research or was told by any dr or nutritionist. If I knew then what I know now....

I was so tired for days after surgery but luckily it levels out too. I am still crazy grumpy but am seeing that let up too at 7-8wks out

I'm having a hard time just getting up and walking around my house. Is it normal to be so sore and cranky 2 days after my surgery?

Hi karen, i had surgery on 7/7/15 and the two first days were horrible,i felt like linda blair in the exorcist hahha but after a week my life is easier and I came back to work already, still on liquid diet..this weekend starts pureed foods.

keep up and count with me

2 days out I was still in the hospital and happily drugged????

By the 4th day though, I was back home and in severe pain. Severe to me since I've never had major surgery before.

I've cried countless times. I already have anger issues and they probably got 5x worse after the surgery lol I was unhappy on the liquid phase and felt I had made a big mistake, but one month out.... I can tell you things get better.

I still have a little bit of pain in my stomach but I'm certainly not sore anymore and feeling good despite everything. I'm now on solid foods and actually had a fit because it still does get hard to choose the right foods and making sure I'm eating enough calories / but not going over.

It is stressful especially the first few days after surgery, you will get through it though. I know some days you will feel like you can't go on, but keep going, and soon the bad will be so far behind us.

I was still in the hospital the second day as well. So it's normal to be irritable and sore two days out.

Yes that's totally normal. Your body just went through a lot. Be kind to yourself.... It gets better each day.

Days 2-4 were my worst days. On day 2 I felt as bad as I did when I had the hysterectomy. This is all normal; you just had part of your stomach amputated. Once you get up and start moving more you'll probably begin to feel better.

First 5 days were miserable! Kept asking myself why I had done this. Day 6 things starting getting better

I was also in the hospital on day 2 - my surgeon makes all his patients stay 2 nights. I was uncomfortable to say the least. I didn't have much pain but really cranky.

It took about 4 weeks before I started not being totally exhausted. I'm in week 7 and still kind of cranky though. And I still don't have a whole lot of energy.

So is anyone else have a gurgling stomach and diarrhea ?

I've had a gurgling stomach all along..I'm 5 weeks out

That's good to know that it's normal. I am so afraid that with my diarrhea if I try to pass gas it's gonna be the other :( so I'm in the bathroom a lot :(
