  1. I do have a food plan and sunflower seeds are on week 5. I just wondered if it would hurt me but I'll just wait until next week. I thought it would help with my salt intake.
  2. I am tolerating foods really well, no nausea or problems at all. Now I'm on week 4 and due to low blood pressure my doctor wants me to increase my salt intake (a lot). My husband constantly eats sunflower seeds so I'm wondering if they might hurt me this soon to eat a few...
  3. 6 days post op and I've been consuming a lot of sugar free jello, popsicles and adding sugar free stuff to my water. I think that is what is causing terrible diarrhea, so I'm cutting wayyyy back on that stuff. In the meantime, is it safe to take Imodium AD if I only take a few?
  4. I'm only on day 5 of post op and I sure hope I lose 2 to 5 pounds in a week!!!
  5. Is he willing to talk to anyone at your surgery clinic? The risks and complications are higher without the surgery but he needs to hear it from a professional.
  6. IV fluids cause me to have a whole lot of water retention too. Drink your liquids as advised (more if you can) and it will come off.
  7. I'm on day 5 post op. I'm able to drink plenty of fluids, more than I was told I would be able to and not really having any trouble unless I drink too fast. I hope this is ok.
  8. I only told my immediate family. I don't want to deal with or hear anyone's opinions either even if they are well intended. This is my journey, I'm not ashamed, I'm proud of myself! Day 5!
  9. I'm on day 5. It will get better each day. I felt horrible the 2nd and 3rd day, hang in there! I'm drinking my fluids easier and feeling much better.
  10. How many wraps did you try? I have had nothing but success with them. I will post pics of my own neck and arms. 8 wraps is a full treatment.
  11. I am so happy you are being honest with me. I thought there was something wrong with me. Your so called "discouraging things to say" just encouraged me! Thank you and good luck to you!
  12. I just had my sleeve surgery 2 days ago. Do we need protein powder?
  13. My surgery was July 14th! How are you all doing? I'm pretty sore and don't feel like walking. I'm 53 years old and want some energy!
  14. I promise I'm not trying to sell on this page! I'm an It Works distributor. The wraps really work. If you want photos let me know and I'll send you a couple.
  15. I'm having a hard time just getting up and walking around my house. Is it normal to be so sore and cranky 2 days after my surgery?
  16. Thank you all for your advice. I'm still just drinking my protein drink and pretending it's going to happen. I guess I'll just follow the diet plan that I was going to have to be on pre and post surgery. It sure helps having friends to vent to that understand. Thanks again!
  17. I've been working towards my sleeve surgery for almost 2 years now. I did all of my requirements and my insurance approved it. May 15 I broke my ankle. I was not able to put weight on it for a month, I informed my doctor's office. I have a walking boot and have been going to physical therapy 3 or 4 times a week. I can take off the boot and only have to use it to walk now (mostly so I don't hurt it again). I do not have any history of blood clots or problems other than my weight. I just got called this morning that my surgeon won't perform the surgery until my boot is not required for walking and a scan is done on my leg. I will not be able to take time off work again for some time...I can't stop my tears, frustration and depression...
  18. Hi everyone, I'm excited to be a part of this forum and am thrilled there is such a thing! I'm 53 years old and have been dieting my whole life it seems. I weigh 240lbs and I am 5'5". I have a gastric sleeve surgery scheduled for July 10th and am excited and scared to death at the same time. My doctor is Dr. Keith Boone of Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery Associates in Fresno, California. I have confidence in him and I hope to goodness my surgery goes as planned (laparoscopic). I look forward to posting and reading all of your posts regarding your journeys.
  19. Thank you, I consider this great advise and not harsh at all. I will remember this as I get closer to my surgery date, nerves are starting to act up! lol
  20. I'm scheduled for July 10th and I'm nervous too. Did your surgeon recommend a two week liquid diet? Mine says I only have a liquid diet the day before my surgery. Wondering why some recommend different things...
  21. July 10th for me and I'm nervous too!
  22. Hi everyone, I'm new to this group. My surgery date is July 10th. I have been told by my surgeon that I only need to be on a liquid diet the day before my surgery but my daughter looked up some info and thinks I should be on a liquid diet 2 weeks prior. What is the norm? Thank you!
