Hi everyone,

I just stumbled upon this site while researching the lap band. I'm really excited about the possibility of a "new me." Any negative things I should know about the procedure? So far what good things I hear far outweigh the bad. By the way, I'm in Ft. Worth...if y'all ever have a get together look me up!

Welcome Mary Belle! We will certainly let you know. I am hoping that we can get together after things settle down after the holidays. This is a great place to come for information and support. My best advise is read, read, read. The posts are filled with many questions and answers on all sorts of things. Again, welcome!~Come often, laugh hard, live long!

Mary Belle

You might want to post under the introductions thread so people will see you and know who you are. Not everyone looks under the Texas thread.

Welcome aboard!

I have a stack of clothes in the trunk of my car that I need to find a home for. I think most of them are size 18/20 Petite lengths mostly in pants. If there is anyone in the North Dallas/Plano/Frisco area who could use them, please let me know. Maybe we can meet up somewhere or do dinner, etc.

I am in some 18/20's, some 20/22's. (Down from 22/24!!!) Hey! Your about the same height as I am!

By the way, I am looking for a dr. in this area that takes BCBS since Dr. Cribbons no longer accepts it. Any one know of a dr. around here.

Down 18-20 lbs depending on the day, 3 weeks PostOp. I'm back to eating about 75% of my pre-surgery volume. I pushed my surgeon to give my first fill before my insurance turns over Jan 1, and managed to talk him into tomorrow.

I can't handle cheesecake of any sort, it's like a brick hitting my band. Almost all other food is fine, so long as it's well masticated. I'm still having a bugger of a time burping, so I'm terrified of carbonated drinks, but who needs em anyway!

Incisions are almost healed.

Just my thoughts.

William

11/23/04-365 lbs (day of surgery)

12/13/04-345 lbs (starting to feel the port under my skin)

??/??/??-200 lbs (port may be hanging out :=)

I know where Joshua is. Gotta love small Texas towns. I am from west Texas, myself. A town called Snyder. However, I had to move to the metroplex to make a living. :) I miss the quiet, the safety, the cheap rent and the familiar faces of my small hometown.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
