Let's Talk About Feet Baby

Recommended Posts

Soooo just curious for all those on the losers bench - did your feet shrink along with the rest of your body? I have my surgery on Monday ( :D    emotions all over the place lol) and while talking to one of my girlfriends she asked if she could have all of my shoes (I'm a collector ^_^) once I'm at my goal weight. I thought that was weird and asked her why would I give away my shoes - she said that her cousin had lost about 75 pounds and her shoe size went from an 8.5 to a 7. I was totally shocked! Has this happened to anyone else out there??? I knew that my clothes would no longer fit and I was prepared to make monthly donations to the Salvation Army or my local homeless shelter but my shoes??? How true it this????? :o

A few years ago I lost about 80 lbs and I did go down a shoe size. I think it might depend on how chubby your feet are to begin with. Mine are/were pretty chubby and wide and I often had a hard time finding a pair that would fit me right at my bigger weight. It's not an issue when I'm smaller.

I've heard of this too. Very interesting. I'd like to know.

I don't have chubby feet so I wonder if mine will change.

@@Fair_Maidan - Thanks for the info!! I'm very anxious to see what will happen with my feet. They are more wide than chubby so we'll see!!

My feet didn't necessarily shrink. I had lots of foot swelling, on and off, when I was overweight. I had to buy a 1/2 size bigger to accommodate the temporary swelling. Since losing 170lbs, my feet went back to my high school size of 10 1/2 and have stayed that size for 2 years now.

P.S. My feet are ripped now baby! I have the feet of a bodybuilder! Too bad I don't have the matching six-pack abs! :-(

My feet shrank a little because they were less swollen. I look at my pre-surgery pictures and my poor ankles and feet were swollen. For the most part I fit into all my old shoes but the ones that I wore a lot are now too big for me. Prior to surgery I was at an 8 and now I'm a 7-7.5, so not a huge difference and I think most of it was just not making my feet carry an extra 100 pounds of weight everyday more so than having had fat feet.

My shoe size went down two sizes. All I needed was that excuse to buy amazing new shoes. Loving heels. I can walk so much easier in them.

Best luck to you on Monday! That's when I have mine, too.

Having lost 100 lbs previously, my feet went from a snug 7.5 to a 6.5/7. I never had chubby feet, either, so I was pretty surprised. When I gained my weight back, I went back to a 7.5.

I'm super glad going into this surgery that I saved all my "skinny shoes" and will be able to wear them again????

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
