  4. The same thing happened to me. Between week 2 and 3 I stalled and just a day or two after the stall broke I lost 8lbs all at once!

  12. Calorie counting may eventually work - but it's really not accurate immediately post surgery. (Especially when you weigh yourself often) I have only been taking in about 400 cals a day and have been "stalled" for 4 days. Your body's trying to recover and there are all kinds of crazy hormone action on the go.

  15. I was sleeved on Oct 17 and same here. I'm really not sweating it. I 'm just trying to make sure I get as much water in as possible. I'm sure I'm retaining fluid.
  16. I was sleeved by Dr. A 17/10/2015 and had a great experience. My husband did come with me for support. I was sick the first night as we was coming out of the anaesthesia but have been fine ever since . The care we had while away was amazing. We even had extra transportation and special requests which weren't a problem. We have a 4 year old so we wouldn't have been able to both get it done at the same time. If we didn't I don't think it would have been a prob for us both to have had it done. Keep in mind that you'll need someone to help you with your suitcases when you get home and lifting things like groceries for the first little while.

  21. Hi guys, I've joined the Google group mentioned earlier but I couldn't figure out how to find the FB group. This is the link to another closed FB July group if anyone's interested https://m.facebook.com/groups/1464372037211615
  22. A few years ago I lost about 80 lbs and I did go down a shoe size. I think it might depend on how chubby your feet are to begin with. Mine are/were pretty chubby and wide and I often had a hard time finding a pair that would fit me right at my bigger weight. It's not an issue when I'm smaller.

  25.    Fair_Maidan reacted to a post in a topic: Hello everyone!
  26. There's another FB group if you're having trouble. We're pretty active too. It's just called July and there's nothing in the description about WLS if you're worried about being discreet. It's closed not private so you just have to follow the link in case you're having trouble with adding friends. https://m.facebook.com/groups/1464372037211615?tsid=0.5005100192502141&source=typeahead
  27. I used to be able to drink litres of diet pepsi at a time but am really struggling with getting my water in on this pre-op diet! I'm only a couple days into the pre-op and plain water is hard going down. Anyone else finding the same thing? I think I need to go take a walk again to make myself thirsty! I'm kinda glad I'm practicing now before the surgery.
  28. Hi again, It looks like I can only invite my friends to secret groups on Facebook. For that reason I've changed the group backed to closed and updated the name and description to be just generically named July. There is no mention WLS so we look like a completely random group. If you have snoopy friends, they will see you belong to the group but will not see any posts. The link below will work so you can request to be added. I've sent friend requests to some of you who have previously commented and can add you to the group that way as well. I just don't think it's right for me to force you to be my friend just so u can be in the group. ( I do however always like new friends What you see when you click the link is the most your friends will see. If you're okay with it, we'd love to have you aboard https://m.facebook.com/groups/1464372037211615?tsid=0.5005100192502141&source=typeahead
  29. The FB group has been changed to secret. Now only people in the group will be able to see/find it. Sorry about that!
  30. I just started a FB group called July Sleevers. I'm not the most tech Savvy but hope it works! https://m.facebook.com/groups/1464372037211615?ref=bookmarks
  31. I think NS is Nova Scotia. It's unfortunately the same situation in NL (Newfoundland). I've been on the wait list for 2 years. When I called up a month ago I was told it would be another two years before I was scheduled for the orientation session and 5-7 years before surgery. They don't prioritize patients - it just goes by the date of you referral. There's just 1 surgeon here too and he does less than 100 surgeries a year but there are over 900 ppl on the wait list. It's pretty disgusting So...... Tijuana here I come! July 13.
  32. Having a drain sounds much worse than it actually is. I had one when I had a bunch of my lymph nodes removed and the Dr just removed it a day or two later when I'm went in to a check up. I didn't know it was there until he was taking it out. I don't think it hurts anymore than a regular incision. I was just told at the time that it would relieve some pressure and natural fluid while it was healing. Yum. Lol
  33. I didn't realize how addicted I am to Diet Pepsi! It's definitely my weakness I'm only required a 3 day pre -op diet but I decided to start following a high protein diet 2 weeks pre-op to help me prep mentally. Today's only day 2!
  34. I fully expect mine to disappear - lol. I have been over 300lbs since grade school (except a year when i was battling cancer). I think it's done a real job on my hormones - so I figure I'll be kissing them good bye and living in sports bras for the rest of my life. Maybe I should plan a boob funeral.... Lol
