Booth Seating!

Recommended Posts

Just thought I would share. The other day I went to lunch with my sister and for some reason we decided to sit in a booth( we always get tables for obvious reasons). Well I fit! and comfortably as well. I know not all booths are the same size but it was great to be able to sit in one and be comfortable.

I call that a major NSV!

I feel great when I can just slide into a booth, no worry about if the table is bolted to the floor and can't be pushed far enough away from my gut! No longer living in fear of dreaded booth seat! :-P

I know right! I sit in a booth every chance I get because I couldn't for so long.

Also because usually the padding on the booth seats are more comfortable than chairs or bar stools. Since losing all this weight my tail bone sticks out and it really hurts to sit at all. LOL!

Way to go!! I have sat at tables so long I forget how nice booths can be. My belly also doesn't touch my steering wheel anymore!

Not only can I sit at a booth, but I can sit at a table in the chairs that either back up to the corner or to another diner. My friends now try to put me in the inside squeezy seat that no one wants because there is no room and I am small enough to fit. WHAT!?!?!?!

Me too @@LipstickLady!! I'm always in the squeezy seat now. I even started to do it myself rather than wait for someone to point me there. That's a big deal because it means I know I'll fit. What a difference after so many years of worrying about not being able to fit somewhere. I never tire of reading about NSV experiences @Daveo. Keep 'em coming!

And pretty soon you'll be reaching to pull the table to you, just so you can eat your meal WITHOUT it falling onto your lap, first! Loving it!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
