Like Alex said, I looked at the BMI chart. It said 159 would mean I'm no longer considered overweight. Then I consulted my PCP. He said because of my naturally muscular/medium build he would be happy with anything under 200 pounds.

I'm now 175 and I have everyone telling me I look fantastic (including my PCP) and while I love my size (10/12) I still want to get to 160. I believe with a Tummy Tuck I could easily be a size 6/8 at my goal weight.

I'm 5'4" and I picked my goal weight of 135 out of nowhere. My surgeon never gave me one. I have a weight tracker app that set my goal at 124.7 lbs. I am exactly 0.1 lb away from that ridiculous app's goal. Sitting at 124.8 today. I was happy at 135, but my body has kept losing. I guess it will stop when it's ready, and who knows where that will be. At 8 months out now, the pace of losing has slowed considerably.

I am the same height, so that app picked the same goal weight for me! My actual goal is 150. I don't ever think I will get to the app's goal, and I am fine with that. Congrats to you! That's awesome! :)

My surgeon set my goal at 135 lbs. I'm 5' 3" and my starting weight was 244. I reached that initial goal weight in 7 months but knew I needed to lose more to really feel healthy. My own private goal weight was 125 lbs. That was my college weight, and I remembered feeling pretty strong and fit at that weight. Well I blew past 125 only about six weeks after reaching my surgeon's goal. Now, six months later, I'm down to 107 lbs. I know that sounds scary low, but I actually still have visible fat (concentrated on my abdomen) and don't believe I need any more. I just need to build some muscle so that I won't look scrawny. I'm hoping to maintain at around 112-115 lbs.

Let me second the comment about not expecting to look like you used to once you reach your goal weight. The older you are and the longer you were obese, the less likely you will snap back to your youthful appearance. I look much less fit at 107 lbs (and age 61) than I did at 125 pounds in college.

I chose my goal weight by adding 10 pounds to my goal weight from college. I always wanted to be 119, but I figured there was no way I would ever get there, so I picked 129 because it seemed more realistic. I also would have been happy in a size 6. I have been under goal since April and I now wear a size 0 or 2, however while I am ok with how I look I do tend to think I would feel just a bit better at 119. It does seem to be very much harder to lose the further and further out you are, so my advise would be to lose as mush as possible the first few months to a year and then see how you feel afterward. Also, you should be within the normal BMI which is a chart available online. I needed to be 137 to be considered "normal" at my height.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
