Ummm...okay I will bite. More information. What do you eat? How much do you drink? How much do you exercise and what type of exercise?

I would definitely consult with your surgeon, seems to me if you were doing your follow visits, they would question the weight loss ! Everyone is different for sure, hopefully they can figure this out for you, best of luck to you! Don't lose faith, you got this!

I feel like I could eat more than 1200 calories on certain days, if I do...which is rare I work out on the eliptical....

Too many carbs, not enough solid, dense Protein. Ditch the tortillas, Beans and flat bread. Deli turkey or ham rolled up with cheese and a pickle would be good for lunch. chicken salad or tuna salad over greens is a good lunch option also.

Any type of chicken, beef or pork with green Beans or broccoli is a much better dinner option than corn tortillas and beans.

I'm having such a hard time eating meat. ...even the sausage in the am...I usually never finish it....even before my surgery I hardly ever ate meat...I need to see a nutritionist....and need to really try new foods!!! :/

Thank you all for your input...just feeling hopeless...

Yes try the meat roll ups, maybe you should try having a shake for Breakfast instead of the sausage patty! I don't eat a lot of meat either but I do make sure I have a Protein Shake for when I don't believe I'm making my Protein intake ! Maybe start over with the basics, liquids for 1 week, don't give up, stay strong!

I would try an extremely high Protein diet like grilled chicken and turkey for a few weeks cutting out nearly all carbs. But eat when hungry because when the body is hungry it stores fat in case of famine.

I drink a medium coffee, a cup of Water, a sausage patty in the am, then for a snack I eat a 50 calorie light baby bell cheese, for lunch I eat a TKY multi grain Flat with only lettuce & avocado sandwich from potbelly, drink 22 ounces of crystal light flavored water, for dinner i eat 1-2 corn tortillas with 1/2 cup of Beans then a piece or 2 of kraft cheese.< /p>

There is no way you are getting enough Protein if this is what you normally eat. You should have Protein at every meal and snack.

What does your NUT advise?

I just started doing a lot of walking & burned about 600 calories today....I ate 1200 calories plus ate 200 calories back that I burned...does anyone else do this? (Eat back some of the calories you burn?)

No. I am not at a place to add back calories. I record my exercise in MyFitnessPal but don't add calories to my daily total. I focus on Protein anyway so don't manipulate calories. I just work to get in my protein goal of 100 grams of protein every day.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
