HELP! Am I loosing too fast?

Recommended Posts

I am 8 days post op and have been able to get my Water in (weirdly enough getting "fast food" water that comes out of the soda machine makes it easier for me to drink)

Anyway HW:348 SW:332 CW:315

Trust me! I am so happy but I have heard of people who don't loose this much in the first month!!!

I wouldn't worry about losing too fast. If you are like most of us, you will lose quite a bit immediately post op and then about 3 weeks in, you will temporarily stop losing weight while your body sorts out what is going on.

Focus on your Water, Protein, and exercise and all will be good. Congrats on your success so far.

Good job! I don't think it's coming off too fast. The only problem you might run into is your gallbladder, but I think that's a problem we ALL might run into ???????? Congrats!

You're doing great! Like we say to people who complain about losing too slowly, people lose at their own pace.

Remember this post ironically when you're closer to goal and you are struggling to lose a pound a week ;)

Girl, don't worry! I lost just below 20 pounds my first week. It freaks you out but it's normal. It made me feel better while I cussed and whined because my weakness lasted a lonnnnggg time lol

A person who's 350 is going to lose a lot faster than someone 250 or 200, regardless of height. In the beginning that is... We can't compare ourselves to others EVER.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
