Tomorrow! July 2 - Who's with me?

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow is my big day!! Six months of supervised weight loss, and now - I'm on the last day of my pre-op diet!! I amazed myself with how much weight I've lost pre-op - 30 lbs, and am ready for surgery tomorrow!

Tonight after work, I'll pack for the hospital, and hopefully get the call to let me know what time my surgery is! I'm praying it will be early!!

A big thank you to everyone on this board that has helped me along the way! For those of you just starting out and are doing your research - this board is the best place to be! Everyone is so helpful, and will always offer you good advice! They did for me!

Just wanted to give a shout out to everyone who's got a date with their surgeon tomorrow - the best of luck with your surgery!! And I'm wishing you all a speedy recovery!!

Move over everyone! Because the July 2 Sleevers are about to join you on the loser's bench!!! Woo-hoo!!! :D

All the best to you tomorrow and going forward in your journey!! You've done well on your pre-op routine. You ought to do well post-surgery.

Yes, BP is a great source of information and encouragement.....and the occasional "chain yank" accountability when we stray off course.

I'm with you. My surgery is at 10:30am MST tomorrow. I only had to do a 3 day pre-op clear liquid only diet. Somehow I dropped 10lbs as of this morning. Taking the kiddos to Grandma's after work. Then back home to pack and try and sleep.

Good Luck!

Good luck tomorrow. My date is 7/13. On liquid diet 3 days now. Today has been the hardest. Only 2 cups of veggies per day.

Any tips since you blazed thru.

Look to your future, and how you're going to look and feel after the weight is gone! I kept my focus on eating right, & knowing that as I do what my doctor said, there will be less complications.

Well, I'm three days post op, and am doing pretty good! I'm almost getting my 64 oz of Water. It's really hard because of the swelling. Doc had to repair a hiatal hernia, so that has made it a little difficult getting all my Water in. Every time I drink, I have to burp. The nurses told me that my body is telling me to slow down.

I'm definitely not getting my Protein, but as I'm getting better, I'm going to start pushing it. Today is the first day I felt well enough to give up the pain meds. I'm still taking my anti-nausea medication. Hubs made toast yesterday, and I thought I was going to hurl. I had a little bit to eat, I hope this too shall pass. Just haven't had an appetite.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask!

I am wondering how you are doing now that it is a few days post op. I am hoping to have mine done in August so I am reading as much as I can. Your last update said 3 days post op. How are you now, eating any better? toast yet?

Three weeks post op - Doing well! Went back to work on July 21! Feels good to be back! I'm a little tired when I go home at night, but am adapting well! Still on the pureed diet until next week. It's really odd adapting to my new food portions! It's crazy how little I eat, and I'm satisfied! Hunger pains are still there, but I think it's mostly head hunger.

I should be able to move on to soft foods next week which will be anything you can slice through with a fork.

I'm still struggling to get my 60-80 grams of Protein a day mainly because I'm just not hungry at night after supper. So today, I'm trying something a little different. Protein shake in the morning when I get to work, and about a couple hours later I having lite yogurt. I'm usually hungry after late afternoon before I go home from work, so I'm going to try having to have another Protein Drink before I leave work tonight. We'll see how that goes...

I'm getting all of my 64 oz. of Water - no problem! I can't believe I'm 42 lbs down already since I started this journey! Time to start getting busy in the gym! Thinking about asking hubby if we can go out on the bike trails this weekend!

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
