My surgery was Monday the 24th. I came home Wednesday. I was doing good thru Friday, but I think I over did it Friday by moving around too much. Plus I went to my son's game Thursday. All day yesterday I was in pain. I know I've still got lots of gas too though.

@@Awjones28, it takes a while to get past that feeling that you just don't want to put anything in there cuz its just going to cause problems. But after a full week, you should be getting better. Don't let yourself get dehydrated. You will feel worse from that too!

My surgery was Tuesday the 25th. I had a VSG and hiatal hernia repair. I came home Thursday. I'm on full liquids - muscle Mille light, milk( low fat), smoothie shakes, strained Soups and any of the Clear Liquids I had in the hospital. and 64 oz of Water a day. My key was to switch to plain Tylenol and walk a lot. I went to Menards today ( a local hardware/building supply store) and walked around, drain and all.

I'm ok for the most part. My pain is on my right, which is where my largest incision is. I've developed horrible acid reflux over the past couple of days. Guess I should have been taking the Prilosec I was prescribed at the hospital, huh? My follow up is Friday, so I'll see how that goes. Oh, and I'm down 12 lbs, that 17 from my SW!

No hernia surgery here. Yes that large incision is a lil feisty. It's actually not the incision, but below the incision almost parallel to my navel, which my nurse said is my actual stomach. Until the swelling completely goes down, it will be a lil achy. Acid reflux sux. I've never had it before so I swear I'm dying now. I took the Prilosec about an hour ago with a GULP of PP thinking I'd get it down fast because I hate pills- epic FAIL. Not only was the gulp a mistake, but the stupid pill got stuck! Imagine trying to burp up a pocket of air, gag yourself to throw the pill up, all while standing over the sink slobbering uncontrollable because you don't want to swallow anything, even saliva. Yup. That was me. Lasted about 7/8 minutes... God I hope this stage ends soon.

Also I find that when I take my pain meds ( I have Hycet) consistently, it's very bearable. Hell I have 2 wks worth, plus it's liquids , so I may as well take it.

I'm down 18 pounds from my starting weight yay me! Pain only when I get in bed and that's from the large incision. The pain medicine is so nasty so I just take me a Tylenol and deal with it. I'm getting my my shakes in also. Awjones what phase have you moved to?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
