I went in today & was told my band slipped... AGAIN (second time in 3.5 yrs). I'm tired of messing with this... Fills, deflates & surgical repairs. They deflated it completely & want me to have surgery asap to repair. Thinking of just revising it to a gastric sleeve instead. Anyone else have a suggestion or opinion on a revision? I meet w the surgeon next week so am doing some research. I'm down 57 lbs, and am afraid of gaining back if left untreated. Thanks in advance

There are loads of band to sleeve revisioners on this forum. Just do a search. All seem to be really pleased with the second surgery, saying it is so much better than the band's complexities.

IF I'd have had that many problems, I'd be looking to revise as well. Surgeons included!

Oh yes if you can be revised to a sleeve. It is so worth it. Had my revision May 28 th. I had my band for 11 years. You have none of the misery that you have with the band. No more sliming, vomiting, stuck food. After my band slipped they took all the saline out. I regained 87 lbs. it took me a year before I could get my revision because we were in the middle of a move and I had to find a new surgeon and then jump through all the insurance hoops. I wish I could have done it sooner is my only regret. I am 4 weeks post op and down 21 lbs.

Banded in 2009. Slippage in 2013. Unfilled and weight gain. Revision surgery scheduled for August 31. Thank goodness for insurance. I so loved the band and lost a 100 pounds. Gained about half that back. Surgeon is doing by-pass instead of the sleeve because of what he figures is erosion to the esophagus. I am ready for this.

I was told today that my BMI is too low for a sleeve revision. So I guess we'll just do a lab band repair. It's my second slippage 'repair' in 3 yrs... So disappointed ????

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
