nonfat dry milk powder

Recommended Posts

I was just talking with my nutritionist earlier today about my issues with the Protein Powder. She suggested instead to try nonfat dry milk powder instead of the Protein powder. Of course, I couldn't add it to everything, but it would dissolve better than protein would and add 8 grams of protein per serving. Have any of you been told to do this?

I just noticed we're from the same area and had our surgery the same day. I'm from the Flint area (a little north of Flint actually). I had my band at the Barix Clinic in Ypsilanti. What a coincidence! How are you doing since your surgery?

We visited with the Nutritionist last week, and she told us that the Carnation non fat powder is the best way to get extra Protein. She recommended that we blend it into our sugar free Carnation Instant Breakfast mix. She said to add a 1/3 cup of the powder to the Instant Breakfast packet and 1 cup skim milk. This is for our initial liquid period right after our banding, but she said that even afterwards it's a good source of protein.

Good Luck!!

Yea that's what I am doing too for my pre-op and also after I mix 1/3 cup nonfat dry milk with a packet of carnation instant breakfast & about a cup of ice cubes and make a milk shake. Today I put fresh blueberries in & it was really good. I'm limited on Protein sources as I have severe food allergies-and I'm stil fat!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
