Pssssssssssst.... ((looks around to see who is looking)) HUSH HUSH NEWS BANDSTERS!!! ((come closer to the screen I have to whisper)) Can you all keep a secret???? (nods nods nods nods all around) Well we had the BEST time on this cruise I thought that maybe I would venture to put together yet ANOTHER one (although less expensive and 4 nights/5 days). It would be out of LA port on Royal Caribbean in Early December.

Give me a week to work out the details, but watch for the thread!!

And shhhhhhhhhhhhhh:kiss, don't tell anyone yet!! (hee hee, I have about 5 cabins going already and I don't even have the exact prices yet!!):cry

This cruise will be open to children, husbands, spouses, significant others, friends, siblings, banded or not that want to go. We created such strong bonds between all of us and I want that to continue to grow. Maybe someday we will have enough of us that we will book the ENTIRE ship! This bandy cruise is going to be even bigger and better (which by the way will be hard to top!)

P.S. To my June cruisers: you are all wonderful and I miss you very much. Thank you for laughing at my dumb jokes and my karaoke fiascoooooooooo!:faint:Each and every one of us showed the true "us" with our laughter, comedy, pranks, sexy dresses, confidence, self respect, and comfort. GREAT NSV TRIP LADIES!!!!! THINK ABOUT ALL OF THOSE NSV'S YOU DID LAST WEEK REALLY!!!:hungry:

Gotta go before someone hears me....... (sneaks out the door):bandit

Does anyone know if Alli made it back to Greece ok? Karla, by the way I forgot to say thanks for being the "cruise director" and helping us find all the fun activities, I was too lazy to read and see when they were and then I just got used to you having it all planned out for us... what would we have done without you????? I don't even want to think about it! LOL! Keep in touch!

Ali called a little while ago. She finally made it home. No luggage but she is there. Said she went to bed and when she got up she thought it was about 10 AM and it was 5 PM. Was calling Jordon and showering and going back to bed.

Hello, my sisters!! Melissa, glad you like my cute new avatar.. I should've bought that hat, it was a neat glittery-gold color. Oh well, I got enough stuff. It was my pleasure to act as "cruise director", although I think you forgot the customary tip of $50/day??!!!! what's up with that? JK

Jenna, I'm game for another cruise - just not sure if I have enough vacation time. It replenishes in January, so you can bet I'll be saving it up for another cruise next Mar/Apr/May/Jun.. whenever we can arrange it.

How are you? Check in when you get a chance!

Fran, glad Ali got back home safely.. I hope her luggage and souveniers arrive in one piece. Sounds like she had quite the adventure with the 10 hr layover..... it's torture when all you want is your bed in your own home, it must have been hell.

Love to all,

Karla

I know you're getting tired of these, last ones for today.

We had fun learning to line dance, notice in 1st pic how Judy (dark blue floral tank top) is not in sequence... but, she recovered in pic 2!

Can't say I didn't TRY the rock wall  ouy veh! here's proof, in color no less. I only made it about 1/4 way up!!! oh well, just gives me something to improve on before our next cruise! arm/leg strength, whew!

WOW!!! This trip was such a cool idea. I have never been on a cruise. Anyway, I just joined the group tonight. I will be undergoing the surgery on July 17th. I was convinced that I wanted the gastric bypass. However, my surgeon feels that I am a better candidate for the lap-band. I am still debating.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
