Starting to get a little nervous :) read last night again about the complications that could arise and I guess I scared myself...not backing out of this though, waited too long. Anyone else go through this?

Oh yes. Every day I think what the h*** am I doing. How the heck did I get here. Trying not to second guess and just take one day at a time. Surgery is one week from today. Hang in there.

Absolutely!!!!! Surgery is next Wednesday and I'm little afraid and nervous as the day get closer...I've done lots of research on this procedure and what can possibly go wrong and I feel like as long as I was honest with myself and the dr's I saw including my surgeon about my health and family history and as long as I follow the program pre op and post op I will be alright..... After struggling with weightless my entire life I feel that this is the best gift that could have given to myself!!!!! I have no regrets....

June 26th sleeve, can't help but wonder if I shouldn't give it one more try without the surgery, thinking hell if I can do a 2 week liquid diet I can do anything. Then I fall out of denial and return to earth. I need this, want this, and gonna do it and do it well. cheers to all. Jer

I'm getting sleeved the 23rd and my nerves are kicking in so hard. I'm scared that something will go wrong, and scared that I will fail, but at the same time I know I'm ready for this; so I don't even know how to feel right now, all I know is that I can't back out now. We are all going to do great! Good luck to you all (:

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
