For the first 12 weeks I took a liquid multivitamin; a liquid calcium; a liquid Iron and also a sublingual B-12. I just switched to the same Multivitamin but in Gummy form. I have also found a chewable B-12 and chewable iron. I also take a Calcium gelcap now. I just started these so I will have to see if I feel the absorption is as good as the liquid form. It is absolutely more convenient

Check with your program as this is one of those areas that varies greatly program to program.

My program doesn't allow gummie Vitamins since the nutritionist feels they are often not complete. They also base recommended Vitamins on bloodwork. I never had to have additional Iron.

Initially I was taking multi 2x's a day. I can't have the added dyes in most chewables & we aren't allowed to swallow any large vitamins or pill for the first 6 weeks because of concerns with proper absorption. I opted for a whole food plant based Vitamin by Kind that I crushed and mixed with a tiny bit of nut butter. After that I switched to regular Centrium.

I also took a liquid sublingual B12 every other day, calcium citrate w/ D3 am/pm but separate from my multi. Iron and Calcium become ineffective if taken together. Because of the trace amount in your multi you want to separate the time you take them by at least 2 hours. I also took D# supplement.

I was also prescribed stool softeners and omeprazole from day 1 by my doctor. This was a big help in preventing issues with Constipation and acid/heartburn.

My first few weeks looked like this:

7am:

multi, stool softener, D3

10am:

Calicium Citrate

12:30

B12 every other day

3pm:

calcium citrate, omeprazole

10pm

mutli

I stopped stool softeners 1 mth post op. I have never had any issues with constipation or diarrhea. I stopped omeprazole around 6 mths. At 3mths I had to increse the dosage from 20 mg to 40. By 6 mths I no longer needed it.

Currently I take 1 multi a day, D3 and calcium.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
