Could my NUT be wrong?

Recommended Posts

I had hit the 3 week stall and to break it I drank extra Water - a total of 90 ounces- and ate half a Protein Shake 2-3 hours apart for 2 shakes and then a small dinner at home to keep my metabolism going. This seemed to take care of it. I reduced walking to 3 times a week because I was worried i was burning too many calories.

She said to aim for 2-3 meals a day with nothing in between, she liked the water and told me not to worry about exercise to do as much as i want.

Now a few weeks later my scale is still again- I hate to go against direct advice from her regarding how frequently I eat- and I did hurt my hip and exercise has been sporadic the last 2 weeks and that could be it...but I'd really appreciate hearing from everyone else what they are doing meal wise, exercise wise and water wise?

Thank you!

I don't understand her advice to eat only 2 or 3 meals per day. During weight loss, I ate so little at each meal that I absolutely had to snack to get in the Protein and calories that were recommended. Even now, in maintenance, I still eat 5 times per day. This is not grazing. I just have to spread out my food so that I can get it all in.

I am thinking the same thing IcanMakeit. As long as I can schedule eating and get my Water in I'm not sure why it's an issue...I think there is a benefit to breaking up meals in keeping them small and keeping my metabolism cranking.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
