I started out my journey in January weighing 287. The day before my surgery I weighed 268. I am exactly one month post op and I weigh 249. I've not even lost 20lbs and I haven't lost a pound in almost a week. Anyone else had a stall in weight loss at one month post op and what did you do to jump start it back?

Any suggestions would be helpful.

I was in a stall for almost 2 months, it started 3 weeks after surgery. I changed up my diet and work out routine. I started to eat more calories and carbs and decreased my time at the gym but I'm slowly increasing that back up.

I hit a stall for a week (week 3 post), lost a couple of pounds and it looks like I have hit another stall. Today I am 5 weeks 1 day out....

I am 6 weeks post op today and i have been stalled for about 2 and a half weeks. I adjusted my Protein and decreased my carbs and i finally have broke my stall. Its sad to me that i still have to "diet" hard core with carb intake but this is just how my body is. I cannot eat carbs in a normal quantitiy because I will gain weight. I just got to roll with the punches. Good Luck :)

Tomorrow I will be post op 2 weeks out (I was sleeved on May 29th). I'm on purée foods and average about 500 calories a day. I'm working on increasing my Water intake (I've been averaging about 40 oz. a day- I know I need 64 oz.) While I was on the clear liquid diet the first 5 days, I dropped 10 pounds. But, since then for about a week I've lost nothing. I go for walks but didn't want to push my activity too much since I'm healing. Am I doing something wrong?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
