Hey everyone I'm to this support system and new to the sleeve life :).

I just got my sleeve on Thursday June 4th so I'm only five days post op. I'm so excited to start my journey to a healthier life. So far I really haven't had any negative effects from the surgery I haven't taken anything for pain or nausea since the first day after surgery is this normal? I do find that it's really hard to get my amount of Protein

Height: 5"2.5

Starting weight 224

Pre-op weight 218

If Anyone has any suggestions to getting enough protein in this first week it would be so helpful

Congrats and welcome! Everyone for the most part has issues initially getting their Protein in. Focus on getting as much Fluid in as you can and the rest will come. Are you on clear or full liquids at this point. If you are on clear, then Isopure makes a ready to drink zero carb bottled drink with 40 grams of carbs in it. If yu are on full liquids then you can do Protein shakes. Make sure the Protein you do is whey protein isolate because it has a higher percentage of protein.

Good luck and again welcome!

Premier Protein ... mix 50/50 with Choco and vanilla. It tasks a bit like Choco milk. I didn't like either one by themselves, but when I did the 50/50, it was quite tolerable.

costco is cheapest place to get Premier Protein. You can get an 18 bottle case for less than $25. Don't buy at Walmart or Target, more expensive there.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
