I just got home from the hospital a little while ago. Feeling pretty good. I woke up from surgery pretty nauseated and out of it, but once I got up to my room, I was doing better. Got to have ice chips last night, then Water, broth, Jello today. I was up and down a lot last night to pee. I have burped a lot as well. I walked the halls some yesterday, and more this morning. Hope my other June 15th sleeve buddies are doing well, too!

I'm still here. Can go home tonight they wanted to see if I could tolerate my food. They said I'm doing really well and they have advanced my diet. I've moved from liquids to cream of chicken Soup and pudding. Yay! Never thought I would have cream soup this early.

My surgery went well. I was pretty much out of it yesterday from the anesthesia. I have been put under only once before. My husband said I was up walking before it even wore off. I would wake about every hour or two last night and walk. If I felt even a tinge of gas pain, I was out the door pushing my IV pole. I wasn't allowed anything at all until 24 hours after surgery. So after 36 hours of nothing when that first hunger pang hit, it nearly doubled me over. They let me have popsicles and ice chips today. I have walked all day. I am sore but not really much pain. Tomorrow they remove my drain and do a second leak test. It actually just hit me a few mins ago... "Wow I really did it!"

My first night at home went... okay. I didn't take any of my pain medicine (liquid Tylenol with codeine) before I went to bed, and I should have. I also wish I'd just slept in the recliner in the living room instead of in bed. Our bed isn't very conducive to propping yourself up, and once I was lying down, I couldn't move. I tried shifting to my side (how I usually sleep), but that pulled on my deep incision. So I woke up sore and grumpy. Took some of my pain meds and am now in the recliner with my feet up.

I'm so glad everyone is doing well! Mine didn't go do well the night of surgery was awful, I just slept and they pushed morphine. :(

Last was better, not too awful but I was still in quite a bit of pain. They decided to keep me another night just to make sure I would be ok to go home.

This morning hasn't been bad,I've gotten up and walked skipped my pain meds and no I'm just trying to drink little sips but get a good amount down.

Has any one had to throw up, yet? If I take a too big of drink,is like instant. My surgeon said not to throw up but holy cow is been tough!!!!

I was throwing up Monday night(day of surgery) and Tuesday night. They finally found some meds that worked. Mine was basically from my allergies. My nose was draining into my belly make me sick. Today was better. No throwing up and they made me eat some pudding before I left the hospital. I ate a little with no problem and got to come home. I am having trouble drinking Water because of all the drainage so I am drinking some punch to cover the Taste of the drainage. My right side is very sore, left side not at all. I hope that today is a step in the right direction and it keeps getting better everyday!!

I puked this morning, but I think it was a combination of taking my antidepressant for the first time in a couple of days without much in my stomach and not having taken the Pepcid I was prescribed. It hurt like hell!

My right side is in quite a bit of pain as well! Does any one know why??

Yep, most of my pain is on the right. They said that that incision is deeper in the muscle than the others. It's the biggest incision too.... I think it's where they pull out the part of your stomach that they removed.

Ohh that make sense! I'm trying to wean myself off the pain medicine but with that incision hurting so much, I don't think it'd going to happen...

Has anyone talked to anyone about how long the pain will still be there? I've heard 3-4 weeks... tell me it has been shorter with others!?!

My surgery is June 24th. Did my prescreen today. Thankfully i don't have to do the liquid diet for that long..I'll start my clear liquid on the 21st. So just a couple of days. Then MOM on the 23rd. Good luck all.

June 26 here. I started my pre op diet today. I'm not going to lie, I am struggling. I have two Protein Shakes, 3oz of lean meat and unlimited Clear Liquids. This is going to be a long two weeks but I know it'll be worth it. I would've caved in by now but i see my light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm June 26 too! Good Luck! Hope all is going well on your pre-diet

My surgery date is June 15th as well. My preop diet consists of 1000 calories a day for 8 days prior to surgery and the last three are clear liquids. I am doing OK with the preop diet, not perfect of course. It's really hard! Especially working in a school and there are so many celebrations this last week before summer! But I am going to rock out the clear liquid diet! I hope!

I am feeling excited but I become a little more nevous each day. I am not nervous for the procedure but for the recovery. I just dont know how I am going to feel. My mother in law has offered to come and stay with me since my husband works and my mom is disabled. The closer it gets, the more I regret telling people. I have one friend (also over weight) who is really giving me a hard time. She is just so opinionated. If I were getting a new set of boobs I don't think anyone would have very much to say about it. People are just annoying. Just had to vent.

Good luck to everyone! Looking forward to seeing your progress!

Stay strong! This surgery isn't about everyone else. It's about you! The decision you are making for your health and your future.

Hello fellow 6/15'ers and those going/gone soon after! Hope you are continuing to feel better each day. I feel really good- did from the beginning. My question- what do we know about when we will start to see weight loss. I weighed myself today, almost started crying- nothing. I checked in with a friend who is 18 months out, 100 Lbs down. She said weigh weekly, but measure. Other insight, thoughts? What have you heard? I'm walking 3x day, drinking fluids, following the plan. A little bummed.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
