@@Ashlegal, did you have your surgery? Everything go well for you? I had mine, BUT didn't end up with the bypass I went in for. Apparently he couldn't make my intestine reach up to my stomach, and I'm going to have to lose more weight before we try again. Most disappointing thing in the world, waking up in pain only to find you aren't past the whole thing. I came home same day, still have a lot of soreness and bruising (he tried for 2.5 hours to make it work). Guess I'll need to pop into the October surgery thread now!

Oh my goodness, I am so sorry to hear that everything didn't go as planned. Ugh! Must be frustrating! Hang in there!

I did have surgery and all went well. I won't lie and say I didn't curse myself half way through my second night in the hospital thinking "why the hell did you do this to yourself?! You could be home, in your own bed, waking up to pancakes in a few hours!" But, I made it through and feel better everyday.

If you ever need an ear to bend, don't be shy!

That's so awesome! I walked around my house I don't think i could make it outside yet since I'm still taking pain meds every 5 hours. Totally random question have you had a bowel movement yet? If so was it painful

I have not had a bowel movement and it's been six days-I assume I should do a stool softener or has it taken everyone this long?

Oh man. Are you taking anything for it like apple juice or milk of magnesia. I think I'm going to take apple juice today just to get it started. Lol

Has anyone heard from @@frosty? He has been such a support to all and I think his surgery was on the 11th?

I had surgery Tuesday on Friday I had a sort of BM LOL - it wasn't solid (but it was exactly how my last few pre-op BMs were) and it wasn't a lot. I figure with his little I've ingested the last three weeks this is normal. Started my Multivitamin today. It was surprisingly not that bad.

I wish mine had gone so quickly! I went to the seminar in January, first appt in February, then had to go through all the appts and psych clearance, and then waited 4 months for approval! Finally had surgery this month. I wish I had been able to have this months ago, I've been so ready!

Hello all! I had my surgery on Friday, and finally got back from the hospital yesterday (Sunday). Everything is going fine. I am still in a little pain, and I am still on the Norco, but I think I will change to Tylenol tomorrow. Overall, everything went great, my doctor was very happy with how the surgery went, no problems or issues.

I have absolutely no hunger or cravings. Yesterday I had a half-cup of chicken broth and 3/4 of a Jello, and that's it. Today I had a Premier Protein shake (took me about 1/2 hour to drink the whole 11oz). I just keep sip, sip, sipping my Water.

I've been walking down to the mailbox and back (a couple hundred steps each way) 5 or 6 times a day. My goal for today is 1500 steps, but we'll see.

All in all, I'm in great spirits, and so excited to have had the surgery. I think I'm doing great, and look forward to continuing my recovery over the next few weeks.

Thanks to everyone for all the positive wishes and thoughts!

I had RNY and that's 16 pounds since surgery on September 8. I did not have a required liquid diet pre op.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
