Has anyone on here worked nightshift? I was reading the number of meals discussion and wondering what I will do when I go back to work. Of course, I'm still on full liquids next week, so meal times aren't an issue then.

Anne - I work the night shift and the first night back for the week is hard. Where as i might normally try and get something (even just a piece of cheese) in me in the morning for Protein intake even if I'm not hungry - these days I will allow my first meal to be when I get hungry around lunch time. There is usually still a 4th or fifth meal (5th being a snack) for me that day/night period (depends on whether I'm going to be up 23 or 28 hours for meetings and such) I will try to focus on more protein those days and instead of trying to keep my calories </= 1000 / day I will go up to </= 1200. This is the only way i can keep from crashing and becoming nonproductive. I will also try to walk for my lunch hour (somewhere between oooo and o2oo) for a boost of energy and to help with the increased calories.

but the first day off after working a stretch of nights - I also only sleep for part of the day and will only eat 2-3 meals a day - no snacking and intake amounts are smaller.

By the way tonight will be one of those hard nights  - GOOD LUCK !

B- the inner portion of a Trader Joe's crustless quiche (not good for band, it was sooo chewy on the outside, so a waste of money)

L- 12 almonds, 1/2 apple no skin

S- 5 pita chips

D- 1/4 cup of chicken salad, 1/4 cup of egg salad (grocery store deli)

I then worked out for 45 minutes

Late night dinner- the toppings off of an individual pizza, a few sips of wine

This was yesterday- it was sort of a weird day. I was on a field trip w/ my class all day and then went out at night- I was gone all day and didn't plan my food very well, in fact, the only thing I brought to work was the Breakfast, and then realized that I couldn't eat the lunch I had left in the fridge the day before (frozen) because we wouldn't be near a microwave. I grabbed foods I had available, so that was the almonds, the apple and the pita chips. When I got off work I was kind of hungry, but I didn't want to work out and get sick (which has happened when I didn't eat enough that day) so I went to the deli and got the egg and chicken salad. I could have probably just had one or the other. I worked out and met friends. We went to one of those movie theaters that serve food, but they had a very limited menu, so it was pizza or sandwiches. I picked the pizza because it was less expensive than the sandwiches and I can't eat bread at all. I also got the pizza w/ very light cheese.< /p>

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
