Looking at everything everyone else eats makes me feel bad, because i eat alot almost as if i never had the surgery. I've had fills, and unfills, and refills. I have lately just felt hungry alot. I was told no breads, Peanut Butter, no carbs. I have followed all that, and still feel like i'm not loosing enough. Maybe just not as quickly as I would like, I guess. I have my really bad days though...baked chips...love them. Tring to add more fruits and vegetables.

Looking at your ticker, it looks like you have done a great job. If you are feeling hungry, maybe it's time for another fill? I know that some of the saline can evaporate over time, so maybe you need to be topped off a bit. I did the low carb thing for a while, mainly because I was afraid of losing my hair. Well, I'm losing it anyway, so I've decided to start adding in some veggies and fruits. I still stay away from bread, because I don't think I could handle it right now. I try to eat between 800-1000 calories a day.

What about exercise, are you getting in enough? I have no right to tell anyone to exercise, because I haven't been doing any lately, but for now, I am still losing, thank goodness. Maybe you could try to bump it up a little, at least until you pass your plateau?

When were you banded?

i was banded Jan.18, 2007. I still see those weight lose ads on tv and think maybe i should try that, not that i have since surgery.

Thanks for making me take a look at my ticker.:biggrin2: I just feel like i could loose more then i loose a month.

I just got banded on 2/22/08. I thought we wouldn't be able to eat breads or crackers. Any ideas about the liquid phase.

I would talk to your Dr about your Post Op Phases of liquids/mushy/soft foods. My Doc did not tell me Not to eat breads or crackers ** I have a hard time w/them, so I tend not to eat them**.

A half a cup of food will not satisfy me one bit / nor was that my recommended measurement. I was told to eat 3 high Protein meals a day (preferred not liquid meals)...You'll find just about every surgeon has a different set of guidelines...Good Luck to You~

today:

b - 3oz FF yogurt w/ 1/4c granola

l - 3oz LF cottage cheese & 3 oz of deli thin turkey

d - 4oz beef briskette & 1/4c ranch Beans

s - handful of walnuts

Can you give me suggestions on the liquid diet. I ate cream Soups because they said anything that run of a spoon but they are more like baby food. i don't want to cause any future problems. What did you do for the first two weeks post op.

Embarrassed to post what I ate today:embaressed_smile:. Root canal went fine. I had never had one before so I was really worried. Opted for the nitrous:thumbup:, worth every penny. Back on track tomorrow!! Can't wait till another fill.

As for the full liquid phase, I lived off yogurt and pudding! Try greek yogurt, its packed with Protein and low in calories, also thicker than other yogurt so much more filling!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
