Any Tips for Appeal

Recommended Posts

I put in approval for both panni+abdominoplasty and a brachioplasty at the same time. The TT was approved and done, but the Brachioplasty was denied. They did the peer to peer review and I don't think anything came of it. I think at this point I have to write an appeal letter. Do you all have any recommendations or tips for getting appeals approved?

@@livvsmum

write an appeal letter.

you got all your paperwork from dr/surgeon commenting on the reasons you should be approved???

maybe ask surgeon to write more good stuff about your situation

submit your appeal

I don't think think the above are frequently approved

but - it's POSSIBLE i'm wrong

won't be the first time or last time ;)

never give up easily

whether its plastics, or regular life stuff

try, try again :)

congrats on being approved for tummy tuck

you probably look as good as you feel :)

good luck

I went to our support group last month, where a plastic surgeon was the guest speaker. He basically told us the only plastics that could get approved (by insurance) was the panni. But don't be discouraged, if you self-pay, the rates come way down, usually. And some places offer payment plans. So look into it, it can't hurt to ask! Good luck to you!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
