When I got my first fill, I was bracing myself for the prick of the needle. All of a sudden he's like, OK you have 3 in there now, I'm like what?! The needle is already in me?! You honestly don't feel a THING!

They tell you to go on liquids for two days, and mushy for the next two before going back to solids. I personally didn't listen and went straight for solids. You will feel a difference right away. The food will get stuck faster, and you'll feel full quicker. It's really amazing how it works!

fills are over before you know they've even started. It makes you wonder if they did anything. I was on liquids the rest of the day only then back to normal,

Got my first fill today ! It wasn't a thing don't worry. I couldn't even feel it. They put 2cc's in. I hope it gives me some restriction.

Weird that you say it does not hurt, I have heard some say that is DOES hurt. If it is like a shot then it will be no big deal, but I would rather know it is gonna hurt than think it is not going to hurt and then it does hurt. LOL...did anyone understand that? Deanna

I had one fill so far and it did not hurt at all. But I do want to add that it is not necessarily guaranteed that you will have restriction from the first fill, or second, or fifth. Each person is different. I had no restriction from the first one. I'm going for my second tomorrow. I'm hoping restriction will begin with that one.

It didn't hurt at all to me. But then I'm used to incredibly painful trigger point injections in my abdominal wall with large needles and I get six allergy shots, every week, etc. I'm well aquainted with needles. I've had one fill and one partial unfill so far. I've done two days of liquids after each. And why you start on food, just take it easy. Give a big pause between bites, that sort of thing.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
