Great news!!! Take your time!! Never drink more than a couple of ounces at a sitting. Tonight for me was horrific. I hadn't eaten anything but a yogurt. So by dinner I was famished. I only had five bites of chicken but it was too much and I drank too soon, so things got stuck. I tried to walk through the pain. But I ended up throwing up for the first time. I will definitely measure how much I eat and chew until it's puréed. The discomfort is something that is hard to describe. Do not let it happen to you. My poor daughters were so frightened as they watched me vomit in the street. We were trying to walk through the pain. I finally was able to lie down. I'm hungry but too frightened to eat tonight.

Goodnight to everyone. Rest well and dream of how you will feel one year from now!!

Lisa

Mine wasn't too bad except nausea and dry heaves from anesthetic hurt like hell! I am able to get lots of fluids, but am feeling a little jealous watching my sister pig out on pastry and taffy while I sip diluted apple juice ????

Hi Carol, its always good to have a friend and some support in whenever we have one of those big exciting events in our life. I would love to have a "Buddy" as well. Do you already have your date for surgery? I'm waiting on my approval. I'm so excited I can barely see straight. Lol.

What a horrific night. I ate too much.. Five bites of chicken and it got stuck causing so much pain.. I tried to walk it off but threw up in the street while my daughters watched. I'm still in pain with terrible gas. Don't drink for 30 minutes before or after eating!!! I will have to measure 3-4 ounces from now on. My pouch may be smaller than I anticipated!!!

Stuck in bathroom with gas and no gas x to assist!!!

Post op....hungry as a bear fresh out of hibernation! The noises that come from my tummy are loud. But it is getting better every day. I am able to get in a lot of fluids. Other than post op nausea and dry heaves in first 2 days, I have had none. I am still on clear fluids. I had to take some pills and was so worried, I waited and waited for something bad to happen, pain or nausea, and nothing happened. I have more energy each day and find if I keep my mind busy, the hunger is manageable. One day at a time is the way to go. Things can change at any time, so I want to be grateful each day that is complication free. I have these little burpie hiccups that hurt like a mo-fo though! My incisions aren't too bad, except my smallest one on the left is sore when I laugh or bend the wrong way. I can't wait to start Vitamins, hoping they boost my energy more. I am so worried about ripping my stomach staple line or getting a leak.

Anyway, anyone else have experienced to share? Anyone else hungry enough to shove a pizza in your face???

@@Beauty+5 I already had my surgery on May 20th. I'm still in the hospital in fact.

Not doing so great, but little improvements daily. Trying hard to get out of here, as soon as possible.

Continued chest pains, and nausea, and keeping me here, although they have done some tests and ruled out any heart troubles. Glad of that. Since I do have a not so great heart.

I'm trying to be a trooper!

I want to go home so much!

@@Beauty+5 Hi! Thanks for asking about me.

I think I'm not typical. Most people go through this stuff and have no issues or very few at all, and go home 2 days later, fine.

You'll all probably have to keep in mind just how sick I was to begin with. That helps to keep things in perspective.

Tonight another big bummer possible setback .....I was so excited I'd get to go home I wanted a shower tonight so I could just get up and get the hell out of here tomorrow. Well, my nurse was helping me undress, and she was like...uh ohhh Now I know when a nurse says uh ohhh that's not a good sign. She showed me how red, hard and hot my skin is around two of my lapro sites. they are very close together. Then tonight I started running a low grade fever. It was lowered with vicodin w/ tylenol, so now we have this to deal with.

That area started hurting bad after they shut off my pain pump. THey switched me from Morphine to Vicodin and that was the culprit I thought, of why I was in so much more pain. Nope.

So I will report tomorrow, and see what they have to say. I already had my meltdown, and acceptance if it is something I have to stay longer for, I'm just going to have to stay longer. Maybe it's something I can take care of at home.

In 2014 when I had that bowel perf, I had to have wound care for 3 months .....I just had very vivid flashbacks of that and 4.5 feet of guaze strip being shoved into my wounds, twice a day...for months.

Well....sorry to gross anyone out, I'm a bit worn out from all of it. I'm a trooper though. I will get my head around this and deal with it. I still have absolutely NO regrets.

I couldn't be more happy overall that I had this surgery. Pray for healing for me, please. I pray for all of you, to heal and be healthy and well.

Ohhhhhh I bought a very slightly used 'Gold's Gym' treadmill! Someone I knew was selling one. Nearly new, and at a deep deep discount! It has a place to hook your iPod or MP3 Player, a holder for your tablet, and speakers, and it has special shock absorbing features. So it is so much better than concrete for my bad knees! Plus 16 different options for walks, inclines etc. I am SO excited about that! My first purchase towards real health and wellness. I'm a happy girl about this! Thank you, Universe, for providing. Saving so much on food made that possible! :)

Keep well, everyone.

I'll keep in touch!

Carol

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
