So i've just gotten my box of Vitamins that we are required to take. Unfortunately, the Calcium citrate is super chalky and doesn't taste the greatest. The other 3 aren't so bad. What other brands are people taking? I'm wanting to switch out my calcium citrate but it's so hard to fine it in a chewable or Gummy form. I'm open to suggestions.

Multi-Vitamin

calcium citrate

Iron

B-12

My doc said to start I can use Tums until I find one I like. So I keep trying different kinds - but right now, I agree. Most are chalky. Waiting for others to chime in.

I'm taking Flintstone Vitamins because they have Iron in them and Citracal Gummy Calcium with Vitamin D in them.

I'm starting to think I am the only person whose doctor did not tell them to take B12? ? lol

For Calcium, I take the Bariatric Advantage chews. They are like having a piece of candy.

I used the Sunray calcium citrate capsules and opened them into my Greek yogurt. Made it a little gritty, but at that point I welcomed ANY texture.

My 6 month labs showed my Calcium was high so I quit taking them. My Iron was also high so I quit taking them, too. 12 month labs showed Iron was normal and calcium still a little high, even without the supplement. So make sure to followup with bloodwork since nutrition is not a "one size fits all"

Thank you everyone for the ideas so far... I was really struggling on what else to try without wasting money. @@Kindle I will definitely make sure to follow up on blood work as necessary to make sure my levels are normal. Thanks for the tip ????????????

For the first four weeks I took a double dose of Wellesse liquid Multi-Vitamin and of Wellesse liquid Calcium. After four weeks I switched to Trader Joe's chewable high potency multi-vitamin (double dose). I stayed with this program until six months out, then switched my calcium to Citracal Petites (or generic equivalent), At a year out I changed my multi-vitamin to a single dose rather than a double dose. I also continued with separate supplements of folic acid, B12, Iron, and D3, just like I had before surgery.

All of these options are cheaper, lower calorie, and lower carb than the specialty bariatric products such as Bariatric Advantage. And my labs have always been great.

I will never understand why so many surgeons are adverse to capsules or tablets post surgery. I suppose it’s because they don’t have the surgery themselves. I’ve been taking Vita4Life since I had my surgery 8 years ago, and I’ve never, ever had to deal with chalky Vitamins OR disappointing lab results. We swallow pieces of food larger than these capsules, and they dissolve in under 2 minutes. They’ll send you samples if you really want to try them… I’d give them a shot. I wouldn’t be saying this if I didn’t have personal experience to back it up. I trust them and the results, and if you’re struggling with chalky vitamins (trust me… I would too), then what do you have to lose? J Here’s a link to their product page. That would be my personal suggestion. http://vita4life.net/products.html

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
