Left side clicking under my rib!

Recommended Posts

Hello I am 4 weeks post-op and having pain and a feeling that one of my ribs is clicking in and out. Only thing is it seems to come and go. I might have it for 1-2 days and then not feel anything for 4-6 days. It's only when I walk or move around which makes it very hard to get my exercise in. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

@@frenchy12574, yes! I deal with this awful feeling the most when I am driving. I feel like my sitting position in the car makes it worse. When I sit in the recliner I don't have the same problems. I really do not like this feeling...it is creepy!

I am 11 days post op now and started feeling that yesterday. It hurts! When I take a deep breath it hurts also. I wonder what it is too. Sometimes it worse than others but I had to take some of my pain meds yesterday just to get some relief. It feels like either a rib out of place or a pulled muscle.

Yes, and I had a ct scan and the surgeon didn't find anything and as referred me back to my primary care giver which I see on Thursday. Surgeon said it isn't the surgery yet it has been this way off and on since I woke up from surgery! I'm so frustrated because it really hinders what I can and can't do! I guess the good news might be that since the 3 of us have this same pain maybe it's normal. But I will update on Thursday and let you know what my doc. has to say.

I had pains like that at about 3 weeks out. When I took a deep breath it hurt in my ribs and my back and sometimes in my chest. I went to see my surgeon and he ran several tests. Said there weren't any leaks, clots, etc. and that everything with my surgery went well. They came to the conclusion that it was musculoskeletal and that i threw something out of whack between the hospital beds and my beds. So they suggested going to get a massage or going to the chiropractor. I went to the chiropractor and he cracked me and since then I have not had any pain like that. He said that I was really out of line and that is what was causing all that pain.

Mine is better now too. I also went to my chiropractor and it helped a lot. It still catches every once in a while but I can just rub it and it eases it up

I searched this topic because I am having this issue. I discussed with Surgeon, but I'm going to make an appointment to see Chiropractor.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
