At first I thought this was off topic but then decided that it was not. This has to do with NEVER GIVING UP, HOPE, FAITH and ENCOURAGMENT.

Around Thanksgiving of last year, after seeing how much work our house needed, we thought we would never be able to afford to get it done. Then came the MIRACLE!

To keep it brief, a dear friend won a large sum of money playing the lottery. He paid for a huge remodeling job, bathroom (I have a gorgeous porcelain walk in shower, bathroom remodeled from top to bottom! Our bedroom has new flooring and a new paint job. The kitchen was another top to bottom remodel including new cupboards. The living room has new flooring and paint job. We have new doors, the leaky windows don't leak anymore. We have new appliances, dishes and lots more.

This has taught me a valuable lesson...God can work through the most impossible problems and difficult situations. He can help us ALL to become healthier through WLS. More often than not, He expects us to do our part. But He can also use something totally off the wall like the lottery to make life so much better for two Senior citizens who don't even buy lottery tickets.

KEEP GOING ON GOING ON! WLS may be easy or hard but it CAN CHANGE OUR LIVES FOR THE BETTER!

REMEMBER, NEVER GIVE UP!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
