Any sleevers scheduled for late July?

Recommended Posts

I am scheduled for July 14, 2015. Very excited, not really nervous at all. Had great online class with dietician regarding post op diet and two months out from surgery. Very detailed information which answered all my questions.

Since I get tired of measuring, I ordered from Amazon a 2 cup glass drinking tumbler that has graduated increments on the glass itself. I also ordered a bariatric Protein recipe book that had a lot of 5 star ratings. Lastly, I ordered some plastic lidded containers that hold 2.5 ounces. I will use those as serving dishes so I again will not have to measure each and every item.

I am fortunate that I am not employed during the summer months, so I have until fall to figure all this out.

Hello 1body and RNsleever, we share the same sleeve date., even though I have a lot more weight to lose than you ladies . We should be sure to follow each other so we can track progress and bounce questions and concerns off each other. This is all so exciting, but I'm also very nervous.

Alicia

Awesome! I am just getting the hang of this forum, so glad I found it. I have soooo many questions and concerns!

Hi July Sleevers,

How has it been going for those of you who have gone through the surgery and are in the "post" phase? Do you have any advice for those of us a bit behind you?

Today I realized that a bunch of us (Nads64, Kameyan, Shemica, 1Body2Live, Scorpions118, Alicia, RNsleever715, & me) are just about 6 weeks away from our surgery dates. How are you all doing with the difficult job of changing eating habits? I'm struggling a bit but feeling motivated by the 6-week mark.

Hey, Motivatedsabby, I'm envious of your online preparation class, which sounds really good. Your measuring cup/container purchases are clever. Good luck on the 14th! Let us know how it goes.

Yes I would love to here how it's going for those that are scheduled earlier than us late July sleevers.

Kbpaulie I'm sure you're not the only one struggling a bit with the pre-op diet. I feel like for the most I've made a real change in my diet, but there are still some things that won't fly after July 28th. I'm anxious about my June 29th appointment when I find out what my strict "pre-op" diet will consist of and for how long before. But I know that none of us have come this far not to do whatever it takes to make the changes we desperately want. WE CAN DO THIS!! :-)

I start my full liquid diet on July 14th, exactly 2 weeks before my surgery. I was told I can eat cream Soups, Jello, pudding, Protein Drinks, shakes, tea, Italian ice, skim milk, Popsicles, and plenty of Water. I'm also trying to commit to 30-45 minutes of physical activity everyday. I've also started bringing my own healthy lunch to work. My co-workers have noticed that I'm getting really big so they said I'm doing good with my choices. Soon after my surgery they'll probably say that all my efforts are finally showing. I'm not telling anyone about my VSG, only my husband.

I'm scheduled for 8/4 so I'm just a week after you. I haven't really gotten into full swing with my pre-op appointments, but I'm anxious and ready :)

Hubby and I are scheduled for our last appointment with the surgeon on 6/23. I am so nervous about insurance approval. We have Aetna. We opted to do the full 6 months with home exercise instead of the 3 month option of going to the weight loss center's gym. We have both completed all the requirements, but I am still a nervous wreck worrying about approval. One more week until they submit the paperwork. I know I am so thankful for this site.

Scheduled for July 16th I did all my pre-op appointments early on, I got them all don't in like the span of 2 months. For most of April and May I was a zombie lol. Procedures after procedure, but I'm glad it's all done now. Now all I have to worry about is approval , but with my comorbidities I'm not worried about getting the green light for my surgery. I'm cool as a cucumber, I keep getting asked am I nervous yet but it hasn't hit me just yet. We'll see I guess. Is anyone else nervous?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
