Hi everyone! I'm phasing over to solids! Which is so exciting!!! I've grown quite tired of the Protein drinks/shakes. I'm glad to have more options. I'll start with soft solids like eggs, tuna salad, and then probably move on to some other solids like chicken.

I was wondering if there are other folks sleeved in April that are transitioning to solids and how it's going for everyone.

Which foods were easiest to tolerate at first? What are you're favorite go to meals now that you're in solids? Is there anything that you've tried that hasn't gone so well?

I started soft foods this week so I have tried Taco Bell pintos and cheese and scrambled egg, in addition to the yogurt and cottage cheese that counted for me under full liquids. After a grocery store run I want to try ricotta bake. I don't add tuna until next week.

I want to try the ricotta bake also!! It looks really good. I'm going to stock up on some things at the grocery store this weekend. Another thing that sounds good to me is a deli meat roll up with the meat and cheese and then maybe some mayo or mustard.

I had a scrambled egg tonight and it was yummy! Best egg ever! :)

I'm going to try tuna salad tomorrow.

I was sleeved 4/10 and this week have had the buffalo chicken and ricotta bake. I'm also doing well with scrambled eggs, yogurt, and cottage cheese.< /p>

The buffalo chicken didn't give you any problems? Did you make it yourself or get it at a restaurant? That sounds amazing! Of course, all food sounds amazing right now. :)

I had a lap band to sleeve revision on April 16. I started eating solid food at 14 days. I started with salmon and green Beans. Then had mahi mahi with some slaw mix. I have had no problems as of yet. I have had chicken, tuna, turkey. Have not had ground beef yet, but going to try that this weekend. For Breakfast scrambled egg with sautéed veggies (zucchini, onion, mushrooms - cooked well), grits, steel cut oats, strawberries, blueberries and raspberries … the raspberries did create some acid for me … and strawberries today so we will see.

I think my stomach healed much faster than most because I used Bone broth in my liquid diet. Bone Broth has 9 grams of Protein in each 8 oz. serving and the purpose of bone broth is to heal the gut (if you have gut issues) … so since I mostly eat a Paleo diet 85/15 … I cook and use that a lot and I really think my stomach was fine at 10 day! I have lost 13 lbs. in 3 weeks and I am ok with that!

All I can say is that I can eat again. I had so much trouble with the lap band that I threw up almost everything I ate! It was depressing. How I can eat healthy again!

Also … looking forward to my first salad … maybe this weekend!

@@jmshields That's great! I'm glad your sleeve is healing well and giving you tons less problems than the band.

I was sleeved 4/23, and lost 15 lbs since surgery.

I mostly eat Soups, cottage cheese, avocado, string cheese, applesauce, and yogurt. Soft cooked veggies are fine too. Scrambled eggs still is uncomfortable, as well as other things. I'm tired of soup!!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
