Ok I have a question, I am 3 weeks out, I had pain for the first few weeks on my left side by the big incision and in the middle one where your waist band is, well most of it subsided, I started back to work one week out, at one of my jobs doing housekeeping for a dialysis clinic, anyway, now at this point it hurts pretty bad again when I bend over, this am I couldn't even tie my shoes, when sitting or standing its just a slight pain but when I bend over it is something else, anyone experience this, first I thought it was trapped gas but I haven't had any gas pains and it's only in this one area, it's like i'm pinching something off when I bend over, I don't know

You likely are doing too much too soon. Ease off on things that involve bending and lifting anything over 10 lbs. If any of you incisions start oozing or feel hot to touch, contact your doctor ASAP.

Did your doctor release you to do this kind of activity so soon? I am a retired hospital / hotel housekeeping manager and am well aware that there is a certain amount of thankless lifting, sweeping, mopping, furniture arranging, reaching, bending, bedwashing, and hauling linen and trash bags involved in what you do.

I was instructed to not lift anything over five pounds for the first six weeks. My largest incision near my navel was the sorest one for me also, and it needed more healing time than the other incisions. If there is some way you could get light duty for a couple of weeks, you might consider it.

Thank you all, right now doc has me on a 15 pound weight restriction, but yes the job does require a lot of sweeping, mopping, and bending, lots of bending, all my incisions look good they are all closed, staples were removed when I was one week out, no more steri strips, so will try to cut back on some things.

😫 Hi, I’m new to bariatricpal! I am 8 days post op VSG. I am struggling very badly. I’ve been so emotional because I feel like I’m doing wrong. I’m afraid I’ll eat or drink to fast or eat the wrong thing. I’ve been on Pinterest and YouTube constantly for help. I have followed all of my surgeons and dieticians instructions. I just don’t know if my body is getting enough. Today, I am weak, sore, and just exhausted.

It passes!! Everyone goes though it! It is a short term emotion! I'm almost five years post op! You made the right decision! Don't focus on the change right now. Try to entertain your mind. What your feeling only last about a week. It's related to your body adjusting and you mind adjusting. You got this!!

I agree with Tara it's hard right now but it gets better do t forget your hormones will be all over the place you may even feel depressed. Be kind to yourself reach out and talk to people how you are feeling .

I know BMI is not the best indication of things in certain situations but I'm happy to share I'm out of the obesity class III category. I'm in class II now. Just 47 more lbs until I'm officially "overweight". Haven't been just "overweight" since I was a kid. "laughs"
