My head hunger stopped when I started to fit into smaller clothing size. The amazing effect of feeling good about myself help me getting out of it. Also stay busy and very active during the day. Sitting in front of tv didn't help me at all.

Good luck dawn

It's all IV Water weight. I GAINED 25 pounds in the hospital in FIVE days....

I was being treated for severe diarrhea and they were pushing fluids in.

The Fluid weight will come out after about one week...BUT you must drink... If you have difficulty, sip water around the clock. Set an alarm on your phone for every five minutes and drink.

Best of luck

Hey. How are you? Are you excited?

Exited, anxious, terrified.....the whole mixed bag of emotions.

My greatest worry is that I will go through the surgery and it won't work. I've been dieting since I was 5. So far it's only gotten me here. And though by bariatric standards I am a lightweight, I can only see myself getting heavier and heavier if I don't do something about it now.

So happy to have all of your support!

Thanks sueCque!

I'm definitely optimistic but a piece of me is wondering how this will work when so many other things have failed in the past. I know that if I can see a loss I will stick to it. My greatest concern is that I will go through with this and have no results to show for it. Still, I feel that I must do it.

I know exactly how you feel. I felt the same exact way. I originally had the lap band. That was a total mistake. It slipped and I decided to do the sleeve. It is the only thing that has worked for me! I never did reach my goal of 175 but I am totally okay with where I am at 215. I was 305. I will be honest with you...the first month after surgery is not easy but I promise you, it will get much better. The only real issue that I have is heart burn. I have to take medication for it and I don't absorb Iron well and have to go for iron infusions but I would do it again in a heart beat! I can live with those side effects as a trade off rather than being over 300 lbs any day!

Hi bornthisway, I am telling you, you will not regret it! It is so much better than gbp or the band. I too was worried. You wouldn't be human if you didn't. Just follow your doctor's instructions and you'll be fine.

Hi. Manhattan here. 7 weeks post op.

Hi I'm also from NYC. May I ask which Surgeon you used? Had my lapband done at NYU and would like to get a second opinion.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
