Premier Protein is all I use for supplements. Are you able to get through a whole one in a day? In those beginning weeks it is not easy to get to the Protein goal but as everyday goes by it gets easier.

You might also try drinking fair life milk, it has a lot of protein in it and I remember drinking 3 8 oz. glasses on top of my one Protein shake per day. The reason I was only able to get that one drink down was because I had to split it into 3 servings and add fair life skim milk to thin it out a little.

I was able to meet the minimums most days in the beginning.

I promise it will get better.

Hi @@tanya131313 have you tried liquid Isopure with ice to dilute it and add a packet of crystal lite fruit punch?? I have a whole msg I posted earlier this evening on the GB forum about this topic. I too couldn't take in Protein until I did this trick. It helps. I now get ally protein in. I use the alpine punch isopure drink.

I have been struggling to get my Protein in too. I found a bariatric blog tonight that had some Protein Shake recipes on it. I am trying one right now called Cinnamon French Toast. I changed it slightly and have another change I will make when I do it again, but it is pretty good. It doesnt have that protein shake taste.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
