The sleeve doesnt' stop you from eating certain foods... it is designed to help you acheive "satiety" - ie no longer hunger - sooner.

It takes about 6 weeks for the tummy nerves to heal so you may not be feeling everything yet. It is very important to follow your surgeon's instructions in these early weeks/months and eat by the measuring spoon/cup and the clock. It is later that you can "trust" your bodies signals.

Are you following your surgeon's nutrition plan? If so, I don't know how/why you are eating beef and carbs only one month post-op. You should definitely steer clear of the carbs! Most carbs are slider foods, meaning they move through your sleeve quickly and easily and don't fill you up. You need to be eating denser Proteins to feel full. Also, carbs make you hungrier. The more carbs you eat, the more carbs you'll crave. It's a slippery slope and one you should be avoiding this early post-op!

I too had this happen to me last week, I think our minds still feel we can eat like we use too, and it is hard when you have a family and cook for them as well as yourself.

I know when I had this meat and carbs last Thursday, I was sicker then a dog for about 3-4 hours and it was impossible for me to look at anything to eat for a long while.

What I did want create a menu for myself and a co-worker who is helping at work and we are eating smaller meals but every two to two and a half hours. It seems to be working better for me. Try something like that and see if it helps, but remember to eat the Protein first them the veggie or fruit, just incase you get full. Protein will help you heal faster and keep you full longer.

It's acid, my dear, acid. Ask your surgical team if a PPI is right for you, if you're not already on one, or if upping the dosage is ok. ASK, first!!!!!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
