Freedom and more firsts

I sat in a booth today. With plenty of room to spare.

I fit comfortably into a regular bathroom stall.

I finally wore my size 12 pair of pants!

I bought something from Victorias Secret.

It's a light weight hoodie. Says pink and is pink. I bought a large but when I got it home it was really too big. BONUS! It's so cute IDC!

I choked on the price but it's my reward to myself. I'm a notorious bargain hunter and I'm fine with used clothes. So that was a tough one paying full price. It's so cute though. post-137384-14293959385302_thumb.jpg

Happy happy happy!!!

Good job! I paid $50 for a Nike jacket a couple months ago because it was the first time I had ever fit into an extra small. I was also not thrilled with the price, but when you have great NSV's like you posted about, it's ok to splurge a little! :)

Awesome! An ex small? I can't imagine. I've tried to figure out what NSV means???

I was just talking with my husband yesterday about stages and clothes. His suggestion to me was the thrift stores - this way when I hit another goal and need smaller things, I can just redonate the ones I have and get new ones.

I think it is very important to reward yourself when you reach and realize victories along your weight loss journey. I will never forget the feeling when I jumped from size 16 to size 12. I refused to buy a bunch of new clothes until I had lost a considerable amount of weight, so the first time I did go shopping for some clothes that would fit me better, I had dropped 2 full sizes. I rewarded myself by buying every color pants that they had in my new size.

I'm now in that stage again where I refuse to buy more clothes until a bit more weight is gone. Maybe this time I'll jump down to a size 8 which would be my goal size!

Oh and by the way.... the hoodie is adorable!

I love thrift stores and consignment shops. Garage sales and my favorite, FB swap sites. Swaps are great, you make better money than consigning. More money to splurge on victory clothes.

Goal? Fantastic!!! Wtg! I love the hoodie. I just have to mentally block out what I spent on something that has the signature PINK on it. I'm not like that. I'm not a purse or shoes person. Lol, I bought stuff for a friend and all the items were put in one of those pretty VS bags. I requested my own pretty VS bag. I'm easily entertained ;)

I still have a pair of 20's that I wear on occasion. Even with a belt they slide down and I walk on the cuffs. I can pull them up and down with them belted. I'm probably in the minority that finds that entertaining.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
