i was banded 6/18 afternoon.....and went back to work yesterday - Wednesday for half a day. I'm here today hopefully for the full day. No complications...no problems. The firt night was a little uncomfortable,,,but since that time - smooth sailing. I hope everyone else is the same

My 4 yr old grandson was here and I pushed him in the swing on Tuesday for about 1/2 hour. He loved that. it was good for me too - I think being up and about has made a big difference than if you lay around.

My Surgery Went Well...i Was Lucky Enough To Meet The Other Girl Who Had Surgery The Same Day As Me In The Hospital, So We Exchanged Numbers And Have Talked To Each Other Everyday. I Have Lost 12 Pounds So Far!!! But The Bad News Is Im Hungry Again And I Still Have A Long Way To Go Before My First Fill (can't Handly Wait!) Yesterday We Were Told My The Doctor We Could Start pureed food I Have Never Been So Excited In My Life. We Were Wondering If Everyone Was Feeling Really Hungry Just A Week After Surgery And How Did They Handle This. I Don't Wanna Gain All The Weight Back. Anyways Today Is My First Day Back To Work And I Feel Great.

Glad your well, I too am fighting hunger and I have to admit I have broken some of the rules. I am trying to stay to the small amounts but I am so hungry and not restricted it is hard. I had a vanilla ice cream and I have had to snack a few times, still I am 15 pounds lighter and I have been making but for my ooops by extra time on the treadmill or hiking. I keep reminding myself that this is not like gastric bypass and we are expected to loss 2 pounds a week. Like you, I am sure, I do not want to fail at this. Then I keep in mind that I am here because I have problems with food, DUH me, with no restriction th eproblem is still there. Good luck and hang in there.

PS my surgeon does the first fill 6 weeks post op I have 2 1/2 to go :faint:

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
