Hello everyone! My name is Danielle. I have been hiding here for the past several months but I have decided that it's time to stop being shy and say hi! I have been on a journey for gastric bypass surgery for what seems like a lifetime. February of 2014 was the first time I set foot into my surgeons office and due to my insurance and a bunch of bumps in the road it took over a year for aprooval. . Over a year later I finally got aprooved and have my surgery date! I will be having the surgery on April 15th.. 10 days! EEEKKK so excited but also so nervous! I look forward to getting to know you all. I need buddies.. nobody that I know understands me or understands why I'm having this surgery so im very excited to have this place full of people who understand. :) hope you all have an awesome day!

Congrats on your choice on being healthy you will be welcoming the new you very soon, people do not understand the struggles that we go though and the health issues unless they are facing the same challenges, I do not regret the fact that I had this life changing event everyday , I look in the mirror and I am not ashamed of how i look in my clothes, I feel beautiful now and I now do not get the statement you have such a cute face now I have a cute healthy body to go with my cute healthy face. I have had so many doors open up for me since loosing the weight and this change has also shown me the prejudice of being overweight . I have men and women running to open doors for me and giving me compliments, I have always bee smart and now when I enter a room I not only get admiring looks but the attention I deserve because I have something of value to share. Keep me posted on your progress and we are always hear to help , feel free to add me as a friend and contact me anytime.

So exciting!!! I complained because I have been waiting 3 months. I have wanted this for a year, but was waiting the new to start the journey. No more complaining though!! I too am scheduled for April 15th. lots of people have given me their two cents worth of opinions, but I have decided this is for me. For my health, for my family, to prove once and for all I can fight this weight and win.

weather we have been waiting for a year for this surgery or 3 months or even 2 weeks regardless it's still just as much torture! When you want something so badly 2 hours can feel like a century. :) so I'm glad your wait is almost over too! We've only got 8 days 7 hours 10 minutes and 34 seconds left! (Definitely have the countdown on my phone haha) anyways can I add you as a friend? Would be awesome to know someone having the surgery on the same day as I am :)

Yes, it really would be great to know someone. Really struggling with my liquid diet. I keep saying in 9 days it'll all be worth it. Are you on fb?

Long hard work and dedication has got you here and that dedication and endurance will soon be behind you after tomorrow and then you will have to channel all of it to your new journey of post care!! I have no doubt that you will succeed in it as you have with the preop journey. Congratulations, i know it feels like forever but you are one day away and sometimes that last day all kinds of emotions, anxiety, and such appear. Just keep focused and enjoy your first success and see you on the losers bench after tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
